Asetek First to Offer Liquid Cooling For Radeon HD 4870

Posted 06/25/2008 - 11:42pm

With the release of the 4850 and now the 4870 and the fact that they outperform the 9800 series of GPU's, it looks like ATI has a winner on their hands to bring in the hardcore crowd. Things are starting to look up for AMD. Now all we need is a Quad-Core CPU that can equal Intel.

Rumor: AMD Readies Dual-GPU ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 for an August Release

Correct me if I'm wrong MPC, but from what I remember, the RAM on a video card (descrete) doesn't use the RAM in your system. So the 2GB of RAM in the card, is just for the card!

A World Without Windows XP

I'd also add Intel to the list of companies that need to share the blame.

As for switching, I've now switched my desktop over to Vista (and my finacee's new desktop is on Vista), and I can't seem to switch back to Windows XP. I "love" the OS, but I've become very comfortable with Vista. At first, I was a member of the "anti-vista" movement, but since using the OS, and being able to tweak it the way I like, it's turning into a good OS.

They should auction it off and give the money to Child's Play or some sort of charity. That'd be an awesome thing to do with the Dream Machine. I'm sure they'd get a shitload of money for it to!

PowerColor Launches World's First 2GB Videocard

2GB is nice to see on a video card. But what I'd like to see, is a dual-core GPU!

That'd make an x2 card even sweeter. 2 Dual-Core GPU's on a single (or in nVidia's case dual) PCB. If ATI or nVidia could build the Crossfire/SLI bridge into the GPU I'm sure it could happen. GPU's aren't THAT far behind CPU's when it comes to manuf. process.
