AMD Will not Engage Nvidia in Battle

Posted 07/21/2009 at 07:36:40pm

I've flipped flopped back and forth over the years from ATI to Nvidia and I gotta say that I'm more impressed with ATI's visual quality and stability in games. I always spent more money on my Nvidia cards but never seemed to get the performance per dollar. The ATI cards have always kept up and cost me anywhere from $100 to $150 less. I'm doubtful I will ever go with Nvidia again. I put a 4850 in my brothers pc and I have a 4890 MSI oc in mine and I'm liking what I see. I'm not a major gamer but I do like to play when I have the time. I highly recommend any of the 4800 series to casual or hard core gamers. Save some cash get better graphics.....:)

Windows 7 Upgrade Editions Will Require an Activated Copy for Verification Each Time its Installed

Posted 07/21/2009 at 07:23:14pm

This looks like the way to go for me...

This is what Harold Wong of Microsoft posted in his blog

"2. Todd: If you purchased the Windows 7 Upgrade, you only need the original media (CD / DVD) of Windows XP or Windows Vista.  The Upgrade media will ask you to insert the media from XP or Vista so it can perform a check of the physical media before proceeding.  Of course, if you already have Windows Vista installed on the machine, it will just allow you to perform an in-place upgrade."

I'll just have to keep my Vista DVD handy

Graphics Market Struggles with Worst Year Ever

Posted 07/17/2009 at 06:57:55pm

I guess my opinion would be it's much easier for developers to make games for consoles because all the hardware's the same. They know it's going to work from one system to the next. When you develop for the pc everyone has a different config to their system. A budget pc can't play a game or look as pretty as a gaming monster does. A lot of people are left feeling cheated because they pay the same $50 but can't enjoy all the extras someone with a maxed out pc can. Everyone in the console world spends roughly the same amount of money for the same system and gets to play the games the same. It's a level playing field.
