Tim Schafer: Brutal Legend Skipping PC “Right Now”

The main problem is that they would have to make the game for keyboard & mouse, and from what I've seen of the gameplay, it would be horrible. They wouldn't sell very many copies if they required you to have a gamepad to get it to work.
Jackson's Funeral a Big Day for Internet Traffic

His music was mediocre at best. Meanwhile, people are protesting in Iran, but let's pay attention to the death of one overrated pop star whose sanity was questionable. I don't mean to sound like an ass, but I don't honestly give a shit about him or his death, and I don't see why anybody else should.
Apple Trying to Out-Obnoxious Microsoft with New Ad

And there should be a lot wider variety on the PC side, too. In that commercial, they're all dweebs in business suits, but there should be some athletes on that side, considering the best PC is much better than the best Mac in terms of computing power.
Awesome Transformer USB Drive is Awesome

Holy crap I want that. I never watched Transformers (it was before my time) but I used to love Beast Wars.
God, Beast Wars had the crappiest CGI I've seen to this day, but I loved it. I think I still have the toys for Cheetor for second and third seasons, and Optimal Optimus.

Microsoft Obtains Patent for PC Ransom

Allow me to express my sympathy in advance for all software pirate asshats out there. If you want a free operating system, get Linux like I did. I can't afford Vista right now, which is the only reason I don't run it. I'm not about to illegally download Windows, either, because I'm a halfway decent human being. No matter what you say about Microsoft, a lot of programmers worked on getting Windows to work like it does, and they deserve to get paid for it. I have the same mindset for video games.
Top Tech Blunders: 10 Products that Massively Failed

The first time I ever worked around inside a computer was about a month ago, and I was working without any knowledge on the subject. I took apart my computer (An Athlon XP build, with GeForce FX5600 DT or something, I'm not quite sure) completely, even disassembling the fan on the video card, and emptied a can of air trying to dust that thing out. I pulled a ring of dust and cat hair out of the CPU fan, and it remained intact until I threw it in the trash. I didn't have any problems putting the entire thing back together, either. Building a PC is really, really easy, if a 17-year-old with no knowledge on the subject can do it without problems. The hardest part is choosing the components, making sure they are compatible with each other. My friend, who has long claimed greater knowledge of the inner workings of computers than me, recently bought a PCIe x16 video card, but his Dell Inspiron 531s can't fit it. I laughed at his stupidity, and now I'm building my first computer from scratch in a few weeks to celebrate my graduation. I'll get one of my dad's old video cards (he had 2 8800 GTs in SLI, replaced them with a GTX 275), and lord it over my friend, because that's what we do to each other.
(personal story over)
I pick hardware based mainly on what I read here and on Tom's Hardware.
Dell to Release an Android Netbook
Posted 05/08/2009 at 12:02:01am
Netbooks are not intended as replacements. Think of them more as upgraded smart phones (without GSM, of course) than as downgraded laptops.

No thank you, I like a physical copy of my games, without DRM or the like. I like the ability to loan my game disk to my friend once I'm done with it. I like the ability to buy used games at a lower price. I like the ability to actually have removable media. Blu-ray isn't going to be obsolete for a while.
How to Build a Kick-ass $800 Gaming PC
Posted 05/01/2009 at 06:16:58pm
This is supposed to be a budget gaming PC. With an emphasis on the budget part. Emphasis on performance over price is not what we are talking about here. It's about balancing the two, and AMD chips can do that slightly better. You have to remember to spend money on graphics, too.
