Take a show, any one, with the subtitles turned on, upload load it. Then turn on the Auto-Caption. I'm guessing hilarity will ensue.
Samsung's upgraded Green DDR3 memory, tons of extra RAM
Posted 02/24/2010 at 07:20:30pm
Go take a look at Western Digital "Green" Drives. They run pretty slow. I'll go out on a limb and say that these "Green" ram cards are going to be much slower than most DDR2. There is a market for the "Green" label. As long as demand is there companies are going to exploit it by serving up what looks like new energy efficient goods but is just recycled stuff from ten years ago. Speaking of markets, I need to go to one right now, after shoveling all the global warming out of my drive way.

Is Linux Ready for 4096 Byte Sector Hard Drives?
Posted 02/15/2010 at 03:23:07pm
The so-called "green" drives spin at about 5400rpm. Some can speed up to 7200rpm, but that takes time to happen. Could this be affecting the test results? Try using a Velociraptor. Or, just an ordinary 7200rpm. That's just the hard drive issues alone. How about the CPU, ram, or even the version of Linux. I like Linux, but I can't play Rosenkreuz Stilette on it.
Virtualization in Win7
Posted 02/11/2010 at 07:30:22pm
Ever since XP came out I have been trying to find a legacy program that works with compatibility mode with no luck. With XP Mode I have managed to get one program to work which is one more than compatibility mode. Both are worthless and a waste of time. If a legacy app will not work in WIN 7, you are SOL, and I don't mean the Satellite of Love.
Complete Guide to Creating and Editing PDFs for Free
Posted 01/28/2010 at 07:52:15pm
You needed a $1000 to make and edit. The files are huge. Page 1 is the cover sheet, not the numbered page one of the actual document. Many years ago I had to scan a bunch of docs and the were coming out as PDFs and 10s of MB per page. I switched to PNG and got the same effect at 10s of kbs. A text/html editor gets you all the same functionality at next to nothing cost. What about PDF readers? I use Foxit for all those rare occasions I need a look at a PDF.
Game Theory: Monkeying with the Classics

RKS. I played that game for a few months. The most interesting effect was wanting to go back and play Megaman. Still good 22 years later. Check out Maniac Mansion Deluxe.

Paste as color as a transparent selection? Prior version couldn't. How about text in real time at any magnification? Can I draw a simple one-by-one pixel dot? When I make a selection can I just move it from there? Or do I have to click a dozen other buttons to make it move? Right click menu? Rotation without dithering? (MSPaint can't do that, but NeoPaint can. Color replacement?
