Unsurprisingly, Pirates Target Windows XP Over Vista, Says Microsoft

The robust countermeasures are unstable drivers, hardware compatibility problems, and frequent crashes. Can't do anything legal or illegal without the OS barfing on itself.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic MMO-Splosion -- "Biggest BioWare Game Ever Made"

Wow, how jaded are you? You probably should have played KOTOR at your friends or on your own PC, incredible story. The flight sim was prolly X-Wing, or Tie Fighter (you sure you enjoyed their flight sim and don't remember these names?) . You ever hear of Dark Forces? There is quite a lot of good Star Wars gaming waiting to be experienced out there. Some of it is even free by now.

Gotta say that I really agree with this sentiment through and through.
Warhammer Online Reaches 750,000 Players in Less Than A Month

I'm seeing the graph but I can't help but think that the holidays are approaching and people are busy going to parties, buying gifts, or working to afford those gifts.
Not to mention xfire isn't exactly accurate, at best it's a very rough estimate of a player's behaviour patterns. It's hard to say it's anything else because it can only take logs from those players who use xfire and play a game at the same time.
Gaming Not-Roundup: Is Pirating Spore the Right Thing to Do?

What we need is a website that lets the consumer know what games have DRM installed...so that any sort of boycott could be done strategically and efficiently.
Anyone know of such a website? *goes to google now*.

Blu-Ray and Digital Distribution Likely to Co-Exist

I don't think it has anything to do with wanting a physical copy of somthing. DRM will dash all hopes of security in owning a physical object...Imagine this, no longer can you take your videos to a friends house to watch lol.

Gaming Roundup 9/10/08: Liar, Liar

um...Gamestop CEO Dan DeMatteo...no...no I can't...I just can't...how I can bash him he has the mind of a child! But I'll give it a whirl.
Is he actually saying this? It's hard to read because he jumps topics like a grasshopper. And I haven't had coffee yet.
Why does he think a retail copy of a game on a hard drive is safer than an online purchase-download-while-at-work game of the same name? Why does he think we won't have made innovations in our internet accessibility by the time a game is 30GB in size. Nothing, short of not making the game, has ever slowed down piracy...
It's like that congress lady of recent...name escapes me and I'm not in the mood to google it...but she apparently hadn't realized we had landed on the moon...
EA Getting Slammed for Spore's Unintelligently Designed DRM
Posted 09/10/2008 at 05:34:39pm
EA:Hey I'll sell you this game... Consumer: YEAH!! *Forks over $50*...(later on the phone with EA)...hmmm I have rootkits all over my system. EA: Of course we just want to make sure you're not doing something illegal... Consumer: But I bought the game...how could I do anything illegal? Why wasn't I told this on the box or the manual? Isn't that a little invasive and deceptive? EA: ......You have three lives...have a good day. *click*
