I found one at FRY's.  I had to go in, it's 35 mi. from my house, but Whatever.  I didn't have much of a choice, cause my current GPU (an old 8800gts) died a locking, artifiact spewing death.  They are surely sold out by now, as this was Last Thursday.

 Now I have 5870 goodness, and LFD, TF2, and all sorts of games run BLAZINGLY fast.  TY FRY'S!

They are sold out throughout the state of WA.  I found one at *$%#? (Oh, I don't want you to get there before me, I'll uncensor that when I have it in my hot lil hands)

It'll be 400 for the card, and 20 for gas to get there and back.  I'll take it though.

Dude... chill.  Flat isn't going anywhere in the next 5 years.  Everyone just bought shiny new plasma and Lcd tv's / monitors.

Though I still use an old SGI 3.2 MP monitor.

The problem w/ compressed air is that it's moderate preassure and low volume.  A vacume is moderate to high volume and low preasure from more than "ON" the target.  An aircompressor is VERY HIGH preassures w/ moderate volume if not set right.  But a Leafblower, it's exactly what you want!  A leafblower is high preassure and Very High volume!  It isn't the overkill of 90+psi, but still has great preassure, and Tons of volume to carry the dust far away from the PC so it doesn't "resettle" on the components.

a 1/2 inch rubber hose.  Not great for the vacume, but cleans the computer fast, and can be (sorry for the upcoming spaceballs reference) switched from Suck to Blow!

/agree w/ the fans spinning, but usually it just ends up screwing up the fan, in a hurry.

 Dust filters in an unmanaged environment may = bad.  Dust filters in a PC that will be looked at every 6mo to a year = good.   I understand where you are coming from, I've done a fair bit of repair too.  The users on MPC however, most of us do get into our cases every now and then at least.  (though I'm about every 8 months or so).  The worst computers I ever saw were in smoker's environments.  UGGH, not only do they stink, but they have a film of crap on them.  It stains your cloths, and haunts you.

Interestingly enough, my wife, who strives to allways look and smell good, had a very thin coat of sweet smelling dust in her PC.  It was really weird to smell her perfume in the dust!

 I have to say a note on wiremanagement, if you must uze zip ties, don't tie too tightly, but done properly,  (last tie should be > 12 inches from the point of plug in)  it is a boon for repairs.  My workbench and my gaming rig both are "Pretty Tied Up, hanging Upside Down"  (sorry, I'm an old GnR fan.)

Neat Idea, but for the cost of 2 gtx295's... I'll take the video cards!

There is a slightly well known issue of random lockups coming from builders who fail to set memory and timings correctly.  I myself was included in this ignorant group for all of 2 weeks until I got pissed.  It didn't happen on XP, only Vista64.  Has something to do w/ accessing all that memory or something idk.  What I do know is that after I fixed it, my machine became ROCK STABLE, and HELLA FAST. 

 Research your recomended memory settings for both Your memory and your motherboard.

 Good luck, but I don't think you'll need much.  Enjoy your smokin fast machine.

I'm a cheap bastard, as I'm still paying for mistakes I made when I was younger.  My DGL-4300 died on me after about 3 years of good solid service.  Just on a whim, not really able to afford one, I did a google search for Site:craigslist.org DGL-4500.  I found one for $70 and they shipped it to me!

I flashed to the newest firmware, 1.21 & d/led the newest shareport.  It's way cool, I have a flashdrive, a printer, and a portable HDD all on a cheap $10 usb hub.  It works GREAT w/ all of it!

Oh, and I play TF2 tons, and my laptop gets the best reception I've ever had!
