10 Things That You've Wildly Overhyped!

you know what, f u u fing nintendo d'oeuvre. the reason people don't buy new wii games is that there are none worth buying. So, if i take you at your word that you do any pc gaiming, that means that in all likelyhood you are lying about ever using your wii and that if you did in fact try to pop a new disc in right now out of pure spite for me exposing you, you'd probably die a horrible lonely death coughing up blood from the hysterical reaction of your throat and lungs to the cloud of accumulated dust, pet dander and general ignorant piggishness thats been building up in your beloved consoles loading slot ever since you finished mario sunshine.

right on every point. 64-bit computing will be great, 5 years from now, and hdtv is great, though, yes, i watch more grainy video online than i do in high def. BSG has sucked from new caprica on, and it also sucked the rest of the time except for the first and last 2 episodes in season's 1 and 2. I've never seen such great promis wasted, except for firefly getting cancelled. Sci fi is in a sad state these days, i mean, seriously, in the genre that by definition gives you license to run with literally anything you could imagine in any universe of possibilites, no one can come up with any new ideas. boo.
Gaming Roundup 8/7/08: Just us Ninjas

As when applied to music, the "creators will stop creating" argument is idiotic at best and marketing-speak at worst. worst, as in, when maximum pc plays dana perino to ubi's bushs whitehouse, it disappoints me.
Every one of these companies that likes to hold the right for us to give them money over our heads by threatening to go all console all the time, you know what, go, watch the door on your way out. The pc as a gaming platform will never die as the ratio of pc's capable of gaming move's towards a one to one relationship with the population of the planet, and games move to the web browser.
btw, a. creed sold on marketing and art design, most assuredly not its 6-foot under par gameplay. If ubi spent a little time designing a game that was actually fun, rather than just a pretty rock wall treadmill simulator with the worst fighting mechanics in any game i've ever played, which is all you ever do for the last 6 hours of the game, and if their marketing plan for the pc version consisted of anything other than this press release, maybe more people would have bought it at retail, not that any pc gamer i know has bought a boxed game at any point in the last 3 years or so.
oh, and another real / actual reason that is quite a bit less convenient for ubi to acknowlegde from shacknews:

Making matters worse according to Ubisoft, is that the earlier version of Assassin's Creed contained a bug (for security reasons) that would make the game crash half-way through. Though supposedly this bug was not in the final release, the mix of reviews based on the buggy release as well those based on the retail version "created customer confusion and caused 'irreparable harm' to [Ubisoft's] reputation".
AMD’s new X4 quad core

amd staying competitive forces intel to innovate to stay ahead, as opposed to nvidia, who have totally ruled graphics cards for what, almost two years, and already they've fallen into the madden nfl, "if people are still buying it, why make it any better?" mode. Hopefully amd can provide some real competition of the graphics card front as well, ASAP. Plus, if your not looking for top end parts you can get a really decent machine cheaply. I just upgraded an old intel p4 machine with a 780g,4400+ with two gigs of ram and a 500gb hard drive for $250. With Shipping. Awesome.
