My computer's powered on for less than 6 hours a day right now, and this week I'm averaging 3, so I'm not getting a lot of power savings. However, my office might have a use for it. Anyone remember the Raptor controversy 10 years ago? I forget which publishers were involved, but basically there were to F-22 Raptor games, and pretty much the only difference in the titles was an "i" I can't remember if it was iF-22 or iRaptor (neither one made sense to me), but that was back when I was reading PCGamer which had a cover story on it. ---------------------------------------------------------- Look behind you! True story, I left her crying at the altar when she developed this identity crisis a few years ago. I'm perfectly happy with the current MaxPC scale (PCG scale works fine also). I really don't know anyone that fits their grading scheme to a bell curve, maybe Computer Shopper. I sure don't know anyone that LIKES scales that follow a bell curve. Skewed curves are embedded in us, most likely from grades at school (70 is passing normally; not 50) ---------------------------------------------------------- Look behind you! You seem to be arguing different topics. There's computer/console, but also keyboard/mouse vs. joystick/gamepad. Certain controllers work better for certain games, regardless of system. Would anyone have bought into the DDR or Guitar Hero craze if their hokey controllers weren't developed for them? Did you ever play Track n' Field on the PowerPad?

I'm glad nVidia is continuing development and meeting release dates. I have an 8800 GTS, and I've been satisfied with it. Playing HD video hasn't been a concern yet, and my monitor is only 20" so this new 8600 GTS doesn't make me feel like I jumped the gun too soon. These new cards seem like they're for people that really want to run HD off their PC instead of stand alone. It seems similar to the situation where people buy iMacs just because someone gave them an iPod for Christmas. As for current and even future gaming, I'll wait for the proverbial 9800 (nVidia, not ATI of course) -------------------------------------------------- Look behind you! A THREE-headed monkey!!!!!!!!
