The "Little PC" is a Fanless Nettop Sporting a 1.6GHz Atom Processor
Posted 11/04/2009 at 01:50:19am
I'm not really a fan of small PCs (full-tower Gigabyte Aurora 570 desktop case and 24-in WS HP A7217A CRT here)... but that Stealth LPC-395F is rather cute.(Eek...did I just say "cute" in relation to a PC...HELP!!!)
Microsoft's Clippy Makes Dramatic Return in Office 2010 Thriller
Posted 07/10/2009 at 05:23:22pm
I actually giggled while watching this video. The similarity to a real movie trailer was astounding.(I don't use Office 2010 yet,as I'm still using Office 2003.)
Dawn of the Personal Computer: From Altair to the IBM PC
Posted 06/05/2009 at 11:39:07pm
While most of my PC is modern, the keyboard I'm typing this on is a 1991 IBM Model M.Sure feels just like a old-school PC.It's quite funny to think that the IBM Model M I'm typing on came out when I was only 8 years old.(my Model M was made in 1991,I was born in 1983.)With the right adapters(if needed) I think I'll still be using the same Model M keyboard 5 years from now.

I'd also like to point out the Sony FW900/9012 24-in widescreen CRT in high-end CRT monitors. (How do I know? I own one of these fabulous 93-lb widescreen wonders.)(Although, mine's a HP A7217A which is a rebadged Sony FW9012). Also,in keyboards.. you forgot to mention the IBM Model M. I personally own 3 of these lovely antiques. (2 1991 Model Ms,and a 1995 Model M).

Just thought I'd chime in and say the "Vista Drivers" parody of Eye of the Tiger is quite hilarious.
Seems spot on with the orginal.
Time Warner's Puny Bandwidth Caps Break out of Texas
Posted 04/11/2009 at 07:31:35pm
I'm so glad I'm using Qwest DSL.(I'm paying for their 7Mbps DSL..). Now that I think about it.. Comcast's 250GB cap doesn't seem so bad (although I still don't like it..) Time Warner Cable is thankfully not available in Portland, Oregon.

Seagate Barracuda Drives Failing at an Alarming Rate. Are You Affected?
Posted 01/16/2009 at 02:29:50pm
I have 2 questions:
1. How can you tell what firmware your Seagate 1TB drive has,and where it was made?
2.Does this only affect the 1TB Seagate drives, and not the 1.5TB Seagate drives ?
A World Without Windows XP
Posted 08/20/2008 at 08:35:11am
I recently upgraded to 32-bit Vista Ultimate...and although it's taking me time to get used to Vista,I like it so far.Drivers are still a pain, but I think they'll improve over the months ahead.Vista is actually quite quick, contrary to what I had thought.
A World Without Windows XP

I'm personally going to bypass Vista altogether. I'll just wait for Windows 7 to be released.
