Actually, I own the DeathAdder, and it does have OTF-DPi sensitivity, you just set it in the driver menu...I assign the page-forward button, you then press the buton, and scroll up or down...
Congressmen Rally behind Free, Porn-free Internet Proposal
Posted 08/23/2008 at 02:42:05am
well, if this internet were made to be in a position of not being feasible as a sole internet access method, so it didnt take away from current ISP's, it should be fine... that way, you have free Wi-fi everywhere [censored, yes. but free...] and i would have no problem with that...honestly, i think it should be encouraged that any connection owned by the government [federal, state or otherwise] should be filtered, it isnt right for people to be using the free city wi-fi to be surfing porn in public anyways...but back to the subject, as long as this in no way affects personal connections, it would be fine by me...if this goes through, and people start getting the idea they can censor my conection, or filter it, i will be severely pissed off... but i by no means would mind having a free alternative when out and about if i need to google, or check my email or something...

Mac Users Are Whiny Losers. Love, Maximum PC
Posted 08/23/2008 at 02:22:35am
here's my view...im a PC technician, and my brother is a Mac Technician, so I see most of the "secret" stuff they do...in all honesty, apple certainly has built in some pretty sweet features into their desktops...just a few key-strokes, and the pc is cloning the drive to your new mac over firewire...pretty cool imo... well, heres the thing...thats great and all, but im not gonna pay nearly double price for that...and i HATE OS X..i feel apple has done a few things right, and they have a quality product as far as hardware, and since everything is done in-house, it is all integrated well...imho, the best possible situation would be the ability to have the mac boot options, but be able to build the damned system yourself, and have it not be amazingly overpriced, and then run linux, and have linux able to game more... ;-) Uber PC right there...

US Agents Can Now Legally Seize Your Laptops

actually, DBaN can do a lot...if you have enuf time, DBaN will get a disk so that it is 100% unreadable...theres also a setting in it i believe that is specifically for property seizure where it just violently nukes a disk and b0rkz it to a state of FUBAR...that is, of course, assuming that its allowed to perform this task, etc.
Overclocker Builds Folding@Home Farm with 51 GPUs!
Posted 08/13/2008 at 05:53:48pm
Well, for specifics, the average PS3 will get about 1,000 PPD...for about $400...however, an entire dual-core dedicated folding machine with 2 8800GS'es could be had for about the same price, at max about $500, and that will be bale to produce about 12,000 PPD...that math is quite clear...

The Dream Machine Revealed--Part One of Three!

well, if that pic is any indication of what drives are being used, and not just a semi-blurred stock photo [my $$$ is on the former] i would definitely expect to see a WD drive in there...black housing, and its blurred, so i cant be 100%, but it looks like a typical WD sticker atop that drive, and it does appear the blurring left a nice trail of hs fins on the side of the hdd...i would definitely say it looks like a raptor of some variation, and knowing whats coming, i would definitely put my $$$ on it being the 20k RPM raptors...;-) i know MPC cant confirm or deny, but what do the rest of you think?

Does anyone 100% know what those "cables" are on hector? i was thinking they are just cable management techniques, although, i was hoping they possibly were vacuum tubes for cooling, or something...anyone know for sure?
