 Looks like the low end chips are covered buy AMD and the ATI GPUs are going strong, just maybe sometime soon.  AMD is catching up faster than I thought they could.  could be my spider sence is acting up again. LOL

I just got the game Mass Effect, more than a year after the release date, and I just love the game and so far have had very few issues. I did register the game and installed the updates Bring Down the Sky and patches.  Even with playing it on my very old hardware. I am talking 3.4 P4 Prescott CPU, 2G Corsair DDR PC3200, on a ASUS 865 MOBO, using a PCI Promise Fasttrak SATA HD controler, AGP ATI X1950 Pro, X-FI Extrem Music sound card, two WD 74G SATA HD (0 RAID) running Windows Media Center at 1280 x 960, one Maxtor 250G HD for games (off the motherbord), two more 250G HD for recording HDTV (0 RAID), and a Mitsubishi 2070SB CRT. These parts were mostly the Best of the Best at the time, but the system is configured into a Media/Gamer PC It even records TV when I play.  While playing I was emersed into the game like no other I have played. I did feel limited moving around and wish it was more like Half Life 2 and wish I could  jump and climb around with Mass Effects story line.  One day!!! RPG/Sci Fi shoters!!!  Hey baby, bring em!!!  If you only play this game in 20 hours your missing out. I think you should take your time and enjoy the payoff.  Enjoy!!!

I think it is important that rules be set for programers to have for PC Gaming.  I hope that this will not stop progress on pushing PC's too the max either with forward thinking.  Just have a playable base line so everyone can play PC games and build from there would be a good thing.

I feel your pain over the hardware wars and wish eveybody would just get along.  Every year I try to guess what parts will be put into the DM and I did pretty good this year, but I was still blown away.  Now, I can't wait untill next year. LOL

Faster than a Dream Machine, able to fix malware with a mouse click, dedicated to the pursuit of the best hardware, and can stop Heavy with a single sticky bomb. The Geeks keeps all the 50 best sites running and many more. I think I may have visited only a few. Thanks for all your hard work, with humor, at the magazine. I think HD is great. yes the media costs alot now but that will change it time and be much cheaper in the future. I like to record HD football games and save some of them. A HD over the air game, 3 hr 15 min is about 21.5 G of space, using media center. The quality is much better with HD, but if you edit out the commercials and or transcode the video content with a lower bit rate, screen res, you can fit the game on a DL DVD with dvd quality for a few bucks. Downloads come with DRM attached too. Did you know how much Bill Gates earns per minute? Well its over 5000 dollars a min. joeyjr
