When you buy a single player game and cannot play/install it without internet connection then thats horrible DRM. 

Also try playing a Valve game at a LAN party without internet connection and see how far you get, that would be no where! Everyone is expected remember to put their game in offline mode before disconnecting from their home network. <rolls eyes>

1- It's console games this article is  talking about. I don't console game....well a little but not enough to get upset about it.

2- It's Gamestop. They dumped on PC gaming long ago to make room for the used console games. If it hurts Gamestop then I'm all for it. 

I can somewhat understand it. Go after the big retailer (Gamestop) making a business off of the used games but don't make it hard for the gamer.  A regular joe should still be able to sell his used game and the person buying it shouldn't have to jump through hoops.

I'd buy a new X-wing/Tie Fighter in a second as long as its not consolized.

I'd also snap up a new Jedi Knight.

Lucasarts has lost it's focus for pc gaming. They used to be leaders. Lately they've been releasing random crap.  Kotor was their last hurrah.  The Battlefront series where consolized making them boring for pc gamers. We played Battlefront 2 at our last LAN party and dueling with sabers is a joke compared to Jedi Knights.

I didn't realize people still played SW: Galaxies.

I loved the Jedi Knight games. Online play and LAN play where a hoot. It's time for an update with current technology. The Battlefront games are kind of sucky becuase they where developed to work on consoles which = terrible controls. Have you tried saber fighting in Battlefront 2? It's abysmal compared to the Jedi Knight games. 

I will definately be checking this out. Thank goodness it appears to be developed for PC first.

I say go after the torrent sites. They should be held accountable. They are linking people to stolen goods. There is zero reason why they can't look at their seeds and see that it is a retail copy of whatever game.

I'm sick and tired of seeing the "pirates" topic and how they are ruinning my favorite platform. I pay for all my games and I want PC gaming to flourish since I hate consoles. I say do whatever necessary to take them down.

Ya same as me. I'll take "acceptable" DRM over no game at all. If PC gamers keep boycotting "all" DRM then say goodbye to PC games. Yes we love to hate EA but honestly you do want to buy some of thier games don't you. ;P

Must I endore console news at a site called "MaximumPC"?! I just left Shacknews a site that promotes news for all platforms but it is stock full of 360 fanboys, encluding the editors. aarrrggghhhhh

The best thing they can do is release one or two versions (home/business) at the max and sell it for $50 or $60. IMHO, Microsoft is skating on thin ice. The Linux OS's are coming into thier own and with Microsoft stabbing PC gaming (one of the major driving forces for their OS) in the back there isn't much incentive to stick to their OSes.

I have this exact problem with my PS3. We have to keep the door open when playing Blue Ray movies or gaming or it gets hot and the internal fan spins up sounding loud as hell.

I'll definately be doing this.

I love how the old exclusive PC devs (Carmack, Cliffy, Molynuex) appear to have blinders on and spout a bunch of B.S. untruths about PC gaming. I'm beginning to think Microsoft has paid them off.  MICROSOFT WANTS PC GAMERS TO SWITCH TO ITS CONSOLE, so don't put it past them. They get royalties for every 360 title that sells and zippy when  someone buys a pc game. You've seen what they've done to there PC gaming development.  Microsoft has become the grim reaper chasing pc gaming.
