Ultimate Mobile OS Showdown: iPhone vs Android vs webOs vs Blackberry vs Windows Mobile vs Symbian

Posted 07/17/2009 at 11:02:49am

I just wanted to say that this is a very well written article that looked at every aspect of these mobile OS's.

The only thing that I would like to correct about this article is the fact that you said there aren't many apps for the S60 OS when in fact  there are many apps for the Symbian OS that are not in the Ovi store but that you can get on the internet. I currently have the Nokia N95 8GB phone running Symbian S60 and I have found an app for everything that I need through the web and have still yet to use the Ovi store because I am in Canada. I have tons of games which include Need For Speed Carbon, Project Gotham Racing, Worms, Wheel of Fortune, Sonic, Luxor, etc... I also have Office suite apps, and since it this phone has an accelerometer like the iPhone, I can play a bunch of games and use apps like the iPhone does. This OS is very reliable and you can find anything you want for it (most of the time for free) if you just look past the online stores.

Having had a Blackberry, used an iPhone, had a windows mobile device and now own this Nokia, I would have to say that I would probably rank them Blackberry, Nokia, iPhone, Windows Mobile, with the Palm Pre being the wildcard because I haven't had a chance to use it yet.

AT&T Charges Woman 5 Large in Overage Charges; Gets Sued

Posted 03/04/2009 at 03:26:55pm

I worked at an AT&T cell phone call center and it is clearly marked on the website:

http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/cell-phone-plan-details/?q_sku=sku2940229&q_planCategory=cat1460003

Everything is right there from how muc data is included to how much the additional charges are per KB either in the USA or Roaming. Since it's all there and on the contract she has no grounds for this accusation. Suck it up, do your research, read the contract, and get over it.

Coming Soon: Customize Your Next Bimmer with Microsoft Surface

This application of surface makes more sense than in a home environment. It just doesn't seem like it can work in a home environment but I would love Microsoft to prove me wrong.

Buying a car like this is an excellent idea because not only are you chosing everything and seeing a picture of it, you are seeing a video of it and that brings an entirely new element to purchasing a car. Car sales people are not going to need anything more than this in the showroom to wow anyone! Beware!!!!

P.S. BMW's short form is Beemer not Bimmer. Just thought I would point that out. Great artical though.

BFG GeForce GTX 280 OC 1GB

Posted 08/06/2008 at 11:13:38am

I just don't get the last post on here...First of all The price that's quoted was probably the price when they reviewed the card before the price cuts nVidia had to make...

secondly, they DID mathc ONE GTX280 to ONE ATI 4870 for those test results...

I have used ATI products and nVidia products interchangably...who ever has the best card for what I need I go with them...right now nVidia is just trying to pound their way through the innevitable realization that ATI is catching up and they have nothing to put in ATI's way at the same price point or efficency...This seems like a stop gap solution that they are trying to hype up far too much...

I am currently running an ATI 4850 and the thing runs cool and quiet while my friend built a rig and has one of these cards in it and it is true, the thing runs hot and loud...

all im saying is read the article properly first and then post a comment instead of trying to bash someone about their opinion and then fall flat on your face when you're wrong.

Daily News Brief: AMD and Intel Working Together?

Posted 06/13/2008 at 05:58:58pm

AT&T already has a declining ETF...for every month on the service they take $5 off of your original $175 ETF. AND they also have the 30 day buyer's remorse period in place as well. Always one step ahead of the curve. For the car, now the same...I agree that all it needs is a knife and then it's done, unless they made it out of some James Bond related material. and the heat from the engine might have something to say about the material as well.

Is there any way to get sound over this? Im currently trying to get reomte desktop to work with my new router because before i had it running with sound and now i cant even get it to run. with this though it was really easy and works, but being a musician sound is important. is there anyway to listen to programs like itunes cause that would cement this as a must have solution for me.

AMD Radeon HD 3850

What would happen if you overclocked this GPU? Would it then be comparable to the 8800GT? I've heard of the 3870's overclocking ridulously and I was wondering if you could do the same with it's little brother. This card is in my price range of sub $200 and I really need to upgrade my card to play some crysis properly! I'm not much of a gamer but Crysis is addictive so any other suggestions would be welcome for this price range as well.
