Microsoft to Discontinue Silverlight Streaming Service
Posted 10/20/2009 at 12:32:04pm
The Silverlight Streaming Service was targeted at companies to allow them to take video, like news clips or movie previews, and host them on M$'s servers. The company would have to make the silverlight applicationba nd simply point it towards the file on the servers and it would stream, thus taking away the "hassle" of space and bandwidth from the company. I belive it was used by Blockbuster and CNN.
Silverlight is still alive, and as a developer, I personally think it is far superior to Flash.
