The New Wave of LCDs

Great Article, I decided to go and do some more looking into panel types (Newegg results show there are more than the three mentioned here and I started finding myself asking questions)

I think some of us may find this website very informative

Has a lot of info...almost too much info, and it's updated often so I hear.

I've only got some understanding of the RIAA...but it's funded by atleast three big record lables...

So I can only come to one conclusion...

If you buy music legally you support the RIAA and it's current agenda.

A Mac user gave the best retort for number 15 on the mac page about how many celebrity friends they have...

#15 - Wouldn't this mean ALL other celebrities use PCs? :P

I still love the "Why Macs Suck" Google video...some mac user wants to kill the guy who made that on the comments area, here's to perpetuating the negative stereotype on mac users.

This is pretty funny but the video of Windows XP going to blue screen when Bill Gates was talking about it at a press conference is still better.

Exclusive John Carmack Interview, Part 2: Nvidia vs Intel vs ATI

Posted 08/12/2008 at 03:13:40am

As long as JC keeps dishing out amazing engines for games and essentially revolutionizing the way we look at  and understand the graphic medium, I'm going to support his decisions. That doesn't mean I'm not happy with his console ideas/support...but he has a point. It would be nice to not have to upgrade just about every year just to get the high settings on my PC games.

As for your criticism on the run and gun genre id is stubbornly stuck to. I can sympathise, but I don't know a single game they haven't made that isn't really a promotional strategy to sell a game engine. Except for their early creations. But I do like the idea of him slinging code for another type of game...that would definently turn heads.

Exclusive John Carmack Interview, Part 2: Nvidia vs Intel vs ATI

Funny, ET doesn't look like doom3 but it uses the engine...perhaps it's OMG the art director/designer who needs a swift kick in the balls. Last I checked JC isn't an art director.

What id has done and I've seen this since quake 3 came out, is it makes a game with a killer engine, and then it sells the engine it has promoted with the game...remember Call of Duty the first one? That was on the Quake 3 engine.

As for your comments about his technobabble...JC is if you had read anything about him, like Masters of Doom, you would know he's incredibly eccentric...he doesn't think like you or many other's do. To him a perfectly simple concept might be incredibly complex for you or I...but the street goes both ways...JC used to think that storylines in games were like plots in porn movies...they were nice but no one really gave a crap about them. He's learned from that mistake obviously. But it clearly shows he's eccentric...its not him trying to show how awesome he is. I honestly think his career has done that enough for him...honesty, I remember when people were ready to lynch him when he made his comments about Vista saying "he doesn't know anything about OSes why are we listening him?"   Then 4 months later everyone starts complaining about Vista but no one says "damn JC was right about this".

Gaming Roundup 8/7/08: Just us Ninjas

Posted 08/07/2008 at 11:02:04pm

This is pretty galvanizing, I am pretty much a guy who believes if you get a pirated copy of a game, you pay for it if you like it. I'm really sick of the trend where the games I used to enjoy on the PC are now consoles first and then PC games second... I still want to know what their overall profit margin was for Assassins Creed. Everyone knows brick and mortar sales for PC games moving towards it's death...a quick stop to your local vendor will tell you that...just look at how small the PC game section is compared to how it was. When the biggest Best Buy in Houston has only one aisle for it's Teen-Mature section of PC Games and half an Aisle for it's younger-oriented PC games...you know you can't base your complaint alone on retail sales. Sorry just my 2 cents. In the end though, I would like to see piracy not so rampant that all my games become ports from consoles.

lol, I hear smearing peanut butter all over the monitor helps reverse the issue, but then you're haunted by ghosts of really bad PC hardware and software ideas when you sleep. And you have to keep the peanut butter on the monitor or you have to learn to live as a hermit crab.

"naturally" long hair? I'm sorry but I couldn't help but laugh...I'm guessing you were born with it already long? As for having difficulties with search engines...google and just about any other search engine out there has some keystrokes that help you narrow down your search if you would but look for them...everyone else has to do the same thing if they want to refine their search in a similar fashion. Biased search engines are untrustworthy imo, it may not be what you want to look for, but what they feel you should be looking for.
