I've had a Q9300 and GTX 280 for a year and a half. Sure it's remotely possible I get another CPU, I'm looking to keep this until like, Crysis 2 or 3.... or 2 to 4 years, whichever is first; I might be playing too much SC2 by then (with a more than capable machine) to even care about other games.

I never expected nor counted on SC2 dropping in 07, 08, OR 09. Not surprising with D3. It's just Blizzard, folks. Move along.

Back when it was announced in 07, I had the feeling that it wouldn't be out that year, the year after, nor the year after that. Looks like that's right all around.

Next time Microsoft says that "we are committed to PC gaming", everyone should tell them to stop lying. When was the last time Microsoft developed or even published a PC exclusive game that sold well or got people excited? Age of empires 3 about 4 years ago?

If someone else, say Apple, would get developers and games onto their platform, I'm not sure if MS would even care about loosing the PC gaming market to someone else.

I will take the Vista games explorer over 7's, because I used to be able to add custom commands.

When I went to public school back in the late 90s, all they had were beige Power Macs. It wasn't until my last year there they got some Dells, and some first gen iMacs. Of course, none of the Dells were in my room. And this was in a small town, no rich folks.

Looks like 64 bit might catch on with 7. Latest Steam survey shows that Windows 7 has more 64 bit than 32. http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey

Aside from Crysis, every game (and most apps) on the market and coming to market are still 32 bit only with no 64 bit executable, and have no problems running on 64 bit Vista and 7. And it's probably not going to change until people stop loving XP. Part of the whole Games for Windows certification includes running on 64 bit Windows, regardless of whether or not the game itself is 64 bit.
