NewsConsole controllers for PC... on
Stay off my computer/console, you!

Posted 09/16/2007 at 04:16:00am

I've always thought this is a great idea. Should have been done a long time ago imho, yet it never has been. If there is one port that I fantasize about it's porting an actual PS2(console not PC connector) to USB so that you can play your games with a decent controller. Case in point. I recently picked up the '05 copy of GTA San Andreas. Well I tried playing that with the KB an lemme tell you there are so many functions involved it's basically impossible. Even for someone who rocked Deus Ex when it came out. So I went out and picked up a Saitek P2900 wireless controller. I hate the damn thing and am stuck with a controller I will probably NEVER use again. It takes on a life of it's own and I have to unplug the doodle every time I stop using it. Whenever I start it I have to fight with it or upwards of 10 minutes before I can even get one button or analog stick to work properly. With a patch cable made to convert a console controller to a PC controller that would solve the issue entirely as I have a use for it if it isn't compatible with a PC game. Someone hear my plea NOW dang it. Give me a legit controller so I can take over San Andreas!!! lol "If at first you don't succeed... Shoot the summabiotch. Problem solved."

ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT Benchmarks

Posted 09/15/2007 at 05:02:36am

Everytime we've used an ATI(pre AMD merger)they work fine for a few months and then just crap out. And I'm not talking their low end stuff either. Now that they've merged with AMD, I just might actually make a change in my purchase process. Because every AMD chip I've owned has NOT crapped out. If AMD can put a solid chip on the ATI boards and they run those kinds of speeds I will think long and hard whereas before there wasn't even a glance in their direction. Come to think about it I'm off to compare pricess now. "If at first you don't succeed... Shoot the summabiotch. Problem solved."

AMD too conservative? on
AMD vs. Intel: Different to the Core

What playbook were you paying attention to AMD or Intel? Apparently neither. Why is Intel beating AMD to the punch? Because AMD handed out their game plan like it was a business card. I may be wrong but at this time I am not worried about AMD becoming more conservative. Personally I don't think they have. I think they just aren't going to be so trusting in giving out their game plan. Apparently someone over at Intel is smart enough to take notes. "If at first you don't succeed... AMD on the Rise, but is the Company Poised to Fall?

AMD fanboi comment? Pardon me but is not the current Q6600 configuration, two Core Duos' slapped together? Ever hear that age old adage about history repeating itself? No? Well Intel has apparently not learned that adage either. That's not fanboi that is plain and simple fact. AMD is on the bubble in Sportsspeak but it's up to Intel to smack them down. They've done so with the Q6600 extreme but be honest about it they did what they've done in the past only this time it seems to work better than the last time. "If at first you don't succeed... So what if Intel has the fastest chip on the market? They'll just overprice it anyway and then by the time it becomes affordable AMD will have something comparable and costs less. Doesn't anyone get that yet? Lemme see build superfast chip overprice it and make less than expected? OR Build something comparable for a cheaper price and sell more. Works for me. Product keys suck as well. on
What We Should Learn from "Bad Tech August"

I used to think that I would never have a problem with product keys. I usually play a game so much that I just retire it to the bookshelf when I'm done. Mmmm hmmm. Well I've recently moved and while unpacking I came across my complete Half-LIfe platinum version. Loved the game and have a faster system now so I decided what the heck fire it up. Not. Come to find out the envelopes that it came with were missing(I put my discs in replacement jewel cases)somehow not making it back into the box. Needless to say I will now ask and make sure a game does not have a product key before I purchase it from now on. Never know if you will ever play it again or not. "If at first you don't succeed...
