Fragile Internet Kept Intact by "Random Acts of Kindness"
Posted 07/23/2009 at 08:25:56pm
This guy is full of crap. One crappy country looses youtube for a day and he says the internet is fragile? Uh, no. The tubes will always be in a series. This guy is as bad as the d'bag that thinks 911 didn't have planes, only bombs.

Netgear Claims to Double Up on Performance with New ReadyNAS NVX

For that much money you could buy a corei7 comp and make a high end server and have all the options you could ever want. Also you can pick a better online backup for cheaper with a full pc. Sorry netgear, I think you missed the price to makes any frikkin sense ratio.
Fast Forward: Requiem for Analog TV

I hooked up a antenna with one bunny ear broken off and picked up terrible looking anolog tv. But I switched to the digital chanel and it looked perfect, and in full HD. I live in philly and our broadcast tower was only 5 miles away, but the antenna has one ear and wasn't even pointed out, it was just hanging behind the tv until the cable guy came. I was amazed that it worked though and so well, maybe the way we should look at this is that you get a larger level of "perfect picture" rather than a broader range of watchable?
But hey, who needs broadcast and cable/sat when we have internet tv? HULU rocks. Maybe its just a sign of the times, my parents don't miss their 8tracks, hi-8, or vcr.
I'm just happy to be rid of 12oClock flashers.....
Steam Now Offering In-Game DLC

Why in the world would Valve make us pay for FREE CONTENT. Games and addons/downloads are meant to be free, as in beer. I don't like it one bit. Now expansion packs and such are a different story, but to pay for my medigun in TF2 would be a load of bull.
Also I don't like the new server policing that they are going to be comming out with. I think they are policing something that doesn't deserve or need it. Heck, a ranking system might be metter, but don't make my server F'ing dissapear off the server browser because people "come and go at will".

Choose the Perfect Online Backup Storage Solution and Free Your Files
Posted 02/24/2009 at 05:57:33pm
I personally use iDrive. It has a 2gig free limit and no file size limit. But if you give it 10 or more fake e-mail addresses (mailinator anyone?) it will give you 10 more gigs for free, thats 12 gigs I have free. Their yearly price isn't too bad either and their software works great.
BackBlaze looks nice though, I need to digitally backup everything off-site but I have 1.4TB of data I don't want to loose. I might spring for 50 bucks a year unpimited, its a good deal for data protection! Cheaper than a HDD!

For all that Apple has been a fucking douche bag about patents and their products, I'm surprised the "iSomething" moniker has not been attacked or patented. Maybe they can't patent the letter i just as Microsoft can't patent the word Windows.
