Illegal Music Downloader's Spend "The Most on Music"
Posted 11/02/2009 at 09:30:07am
I don't post much here anymore but this one is worth changing that. I know several artist and they are appalled at what's been going on and getting worse since the early days of Napster. First I have to say that the comment that started all this is absolute BS. Most file sharers are sharing to keep from spending money any money.
The other guy is right, there is no debate, stealing is immoral, illegal and just flat out wrong. Oh my goodness, one poster even asked why would an artist want to be paid, ROTFLMMFAO! It's a job!!!! No, they only get a cut (per cent is negotiated and is about XX% is many cases) of even live shows, good sold there and etc.....One act go 13% of the draw at the Mud Island Memphis! Some artist own their own label while others have majority contracts from the record label. The old "they don't make nothing from the CD" is weak at best!
Radiohead and others selling music on a pay what you like basis proved what's wrong when folks even illegally downloaded music they could have honestly paid nothing for. If it was free what was illegal? To make it legal Radiohead asked for a simple registration and type in ZERO as the amount paid. DRM-less games was the next to prove folks given an opportunity "get away with it" would do just that and they did just that, pirated it even more.
So IMHO, I think the headline of this one is a 180 degrees wrong. Not only when it comes to music, but software and any digitized medium/information. With the worse offenders being the former East Block and Asia followed closely by Sweden then the Middle East.

Microsoft Launches Second Volley in Its Laptop Hunters Campaign

You can buy any kind of BareBones Laptop and configure it to your hearts desire;) You can't do that with a MAC. Hell Frakkin NO, MAC is not like a Ferrari but more like Toyota or Nissan with a Lexus or Infinity badge slapped on it! Do mean badge just slapped and not really a better higher end model.
I'm not trash HP all you guys like but listening to some of the BS here, it seems like many of you are on the Wrong site. This is MAXIMUMPC, not MaximumNoob. We build our own PC's can't do that with a MAC=P Then the same frakkin PC parts cost 2 or 3 times as much when they are needed, sorry, no thanks. To the guy talking about the Great OS making his 2GHz with slow ram run faster than his PC, yeah right, seems more like newbie build issues to me.
I think the Microsoft ads are dead on, HP or NOT! Hey, don't worry Apple. The PC market is full of irrational Fanboys Geeks who pay $459 for BFG Motherboards, $300 cases with $250 PSU, still think $500 Video cards for 5 more frames per second is a good deal, $200 sound cards that are nothing built glorified CMedia on-board sound conduits, $300 DDR3 RAM that's not much faster than DDR2 and they buy 3 sticks when it is barely faster than 2 sticks. No, there are enough suckers to go around:rolleyes: I don't blame Apple, Asus or BFG![/RANT]
Microsoft's New Ad Campaign: Owning a Mac in a Recession is Totally Uncool

MS is the reason a PC is not MAC as Aplle themselves clearly points out in their Ads, not MS BTW. "I'm a MAC and I'm a PC".
The Dream Machine Revealed--Part Three of Three!

I own a Prelude and a Creative X-Fi. Yes, the drivers work. In fact they've always worked for me. No frills Xgamer with front case I/O connectors might have been a better choice.
