Microsoft Gives XP Owners First Look at Mojave

Posted 07/28/2008 at 06:14:06pm

It's obvious you're a professional and your clients probably appreciate you. If "endo time" is in the computer business, he will fail soon enough with those glib remarks. Any real professional out there would never recommend Vista to a networked business, unless one craves failure. Yes, Microsoft brought the desktop to the masses but as in most things in life, the glow fades and it's time for a new OS. It's not UNIX, Linux or MAC. I wish I knew; I can make educated guesses. I don't know if the technology is ready yet and at what $$$$ cost. Microsoft has become too powerful; they bully their customers now. I could write pages on what Microsoft Vista promised their customers; I could write pages on what Microsoft lied about with Vista. It's a year and a half later and Vista still doesn't work properly. It's all about money with Microsoft and it just keeps getting greedier and more ruthless.

Bravo, Will and the entire Staff...

From my perspective, reader, this move to include the monthly mag online simulatiously with the Newsstand, has been going on for a little more than a year. Probably not though. I submitted my first comment here...Dear Will...My appologies...Still Dissapointed!

Nvidia Soon to Release WHQL Certified PhysX Drivers

Don't miss the point on this.... Nvidia developed software to use on their processors (regardless of GPU or CPU) called CUDA (Compute Unified Device Architecture). Intel is having a cow over this, just not broadcasting it. The Nvidia processors in the G200 series have nearly 3 times the power the Core (Intel) processors have.

M-Audio IE-20 XB Reference Earphones

I just recently tried out the Phillips SHS8000 buds ($30.00) and was fairly impressed. First time user, I have always preferred my Klipsch 5.1 system. However, I need an edge playing all the new games because at 60 I really suck at it now. I love FPS especially mixed up with RPG games, you know Bioshock, STALKER, etc. I can't play Counter Strike anymore because I am just not fast enough now... too bad; "growing older Gracefully" is Bullshit. Back to the review: STicker Shock, YES. Geese; $400, $200, the E.D.G.E. Acoustics GX400-$179.00; give me a break. At my age and income I can buy allot of toys. Big rig, SLI 8800 y'know, but ear buds at these prices are ridiculous. I know the manufacturing cost for these puppies are the same as a $50.00 well made set. I think the buds themselves have allot to do with how well you hear all the positions; Y'know, how well they fit the ear canal and reduce outside interference. My thrust now is to find replaceable buds like the ones used on better sets and see if that makes a difference with what I already have. I can tell from everything I read so far I will eventually buy one of these way over priced units but I got to tell you I really like the way these Philips SHS8000 hook over the ear; very secure and comfortable. Digital Maximum PC? It's About Time

Thank you MaximumPC and Will. The omission of the latest greatest news and articles on this web site has groused me for the longest time. I am probably not the best businessman because I don't have Millions of Dollars. I have owned and operated a business for 18 years; think I have developed a marketing talent/strategy that can keep my customers coming back and constantly drag new customers in. All sucessful business's need to do this to grow and stay alive. This is rote for anyone that doesn't fly by the seat of their pants. The magazine is great and I will always buy it to read. All the editors research and report on the products with passion and intelligence. I get passionate about what has been written also and want to share it with my closest tech buddies; we do this all the time. It's easy from the columnists website - copy/paste/email or instant message. I can never share anything I read in your mag this easy because the web site doesn't echo the magazine; I've always thought this was wrong and short sited. I stated my concern in the forum yesterday hoping others would rally round and give support. Boy, was I wrong! It appears I was a rabbit in a rats den. That's too bad because I will avoid immature forums and go elsewhere. One response pointed me to "super-secret PDF archive"; I found your article, read it and dare to share with you my folly. But I still know I'm right. Obviously you and the magazine publishers know this is the way to go too. In the future will you still hold back the current issue on the website? I hope not! Old news is not worth repeating if it's been beaten on for a few months, yes? This is why I am still dissapointed.
