Last Week's Google Slow Down Caused by High Traffic
Posted 09/29/2009 at 07:20:23am
I've quite enjoyed my expansive, FREE email from Google. If it's down for a few hours, so what?! How often has this happened anyway? If one is really *that* reliant on their email then they shouldn't be depeding on someone else's servers anyway.
Apple Pushes More Unnecessary Software Updates

Just give iTunes the boot. I use MediaMonkey for sync'ing and Amazon for my MP3s. Then use any media player you want. MM will sync just about anything -- including the iPod and iPhone!

Posted 03/11/2009 at 07:50:29am
It appears this patch Tuesday killed my Exchange server. Got in this morning to a ntoskrnl.exe missing or corrupt error. Yeah, happy day. At least that's my only server M$ took out this morning.
Yahoo Announces End of Briefcase

On the recommendation of MPC, I've started using Dropbox. Though I never used the Yahoo service, Dropbox's free 2GB storage option sounds like a good alternative.
Much-Anticipated Dell Mini 10 Netbooks Finally Available for Order
Posted 02/27/2009 at 06:38:21am
I was sick of waiting for the US debut of the mini 10. Given the pricing and the need to "upgrade" to the 1.6, I'm happy I just ordered an Asus 1000HE. I got a N280 1.66GHz proc, 802.11n, bluetooth, webcam, and an upgrade to 2GB of RAM, all for less than the $399 base on the Dell. Am I missing something?
Microsoft.com, Google Included on IE8's Incompatibility List

Agreed. But they still show web standards compliance, which was my point. I was a diehard Opera user for years. Regardless, I'll stick with FF 3.1b for now.
