No BS Podcast #76 The Podcast of Olympian Proportions Edition

Just like any series, there are good books and not-as-good books, but the Zahn books are AS GOOD AS, if not better than the OT material. Sure as hell better than the PT material. Zahn's a great author, but so are a lot of the EU writers. Lucasarts does a great job managing characters and continuity across the novels, and you get some really great storylines, as many of the books are written as many-novel story arcs, and many of them focus on characters from the movies we love who don't get a lot of screen time.
Normally, I agree with Gordon. Maybe he's tried reading some of the EU stuff, maybe he hasn't, but I have to completely disagree with you on your anti-EU stance. If you want to quickly pound through the Thrawn Trilogy, I'd recommend the excellent graphic novel versions, available on Amazon: (search for) Star Wars: Heir to the Empire (Dark Horse Collection.)

Well... I did them all over my lunch hour the day I listened to the podcast... I can't help it that you guys inspire me to prolifically photoshop the hell out of Will. Thanks for the votes, and thanks for your support Dave! Great podcast #40, keep up the great work! Xander: "Ugh, OK, you know what? I think we need to zap our PRAM... with a cup of joe."

You'd think that maybe, but MaxPC has already done pc/mac head to head, and declared the 'true' PC the winner. It's customizable performance-centered platform on the PC side vs locked-down take-what-we-give-you (albeit in a fancy shiny box) from Apple.

think about how much more of their profits the RIAA labels would have if they stopped wasting all this money on piracy sluething, snooping, spoofing, lawyering and suing! They can't even be breaking even with all the money they're dumping into going after the "music pirates", who happen to be the same people who buy and listen to the music their labels produce, so what are they really gaining? A bad rep? An army of people who despise them so much that they stop buying big label music? It's beyond the point of reason, and I just wish they'd wake up to reality. I'm not shouting "all music should be free" - because I love paying for music that I love - I'm just done paying the 47 middlemen who are tossing the leftover pittance to the actual artists.

That (new?) rant music made me want to rant. That having been said, it was a fairly tame rant this time, especially since its Gordon's first rant in, what, a month? Anyway, great podcast, keep up the good work.

The D600 has a regular S-vid port on the back-left of the notebook. There's another, similarly sized port on the right-hand side, but this is where dell's power cord plugs in. He either A) plugged in a broken/bent s-vid cable and somehow got it jammed like Excalibur, or B)plugged the s-vid cable into the power port, in which case, HA HA HA Frankly I don't believe he actually put it in the freezer. When he mentioned tying it to the bed I was skeptical, as that makes no logical sense in any way, shape or form. I think that called was just calling in for his 15 minutes of 'fame' -- which we've clearly given him. Maybe he'll go away now.
