Microsoft Learns from Vista Capable Lawsuit, Ups Requirements for Windows 7 Compatibility Sticker
Posted 10/05/2009 at 11:22:41am
The irony about this is that Microsoft themselves placed a "Vista Compatible" sticker on their own fingerprint reader that they sold. The implication of that sticker was that both 32 and 64 bit versions are supposed to be supported. Never happened. 64 bit users were left out in the cold. Let's hope that they set a better example themselves as well.

Quote: "One of the enhancements includes overage alerts. Once the update is rolled out, iPhone users will be able to access the new setting under the Preferences menu, where they'll be able to customize a push notification that will alert them when they're about to go over their monthly anytime minutes"

Report: Half of all Doctors Consult with Wikipedia
Posted 08/01/2009 at 01:34:44pm
Medical professionals have a vast arsenal of medical resources at their disposal. Wikipedia is alright for anecdotal perusal but not when someone's health is at stake. Wikipedia requires intervention to keep the info up to date; critical changes may not be posted which may be important. For my own research when comparing data gathered from peer reviewed journals and Wikipedia posts, huge gaps of missing information become apparent. Wikipedia is a fun web info source, but neither complete nor is the veracity of the information presented verified. The old use-caution-when-entering or using this info should be applied.
Intel Slashes Desktop Chip Prices
Posted 07/21/2009 at 12:19:15pm
Intel is slashing prices on the not-so-desirable chips. Even the lowliest i7 hasn't been touched! Damn! If you're aiming for Core2Quad, go with AMD; at least you'll be able to upgrade as new chips come out. Heck, you may be able to get a 6 or 8 core chip in the future that plugs right in. Who knows. That being said, Core2Quad is done. If you want to go with Intel, I would stay with the new current architecture - Nehalem and up. No use paying for dead end tech.
