They will just keep getting away with it too because traditional news sites will never talk about this in fear of saying anything bad about Apple.

No BS Podcast #118: We Welcome a Guest

I noticed that this podcast doesn't show up in the ZUNE 4.0 software.  What does it take to get onto their list in the Zune marketplace?

I knew Loyd would show up on the podcast sometime since he's done lots of this kind of stuff before with Extremetech and DLTV.

I saw a few little OSX screenshots (probably old stuff they got from somewhere else) and all the rest where Vista.

How To: Make a Video DVD from Media Files with Free Software

I've found the easiest way to make a video DVD is to just use Vista DVD Maker. It's part of the OS so I guess you could say it's free and it's always worked for me.

I rarely make video DVDs anymore anyway because I have a Philips DivX player so I just drag .avi files to a data DVD using a DVD-RW formatted in Vista's Explorer. It's saves allot of time not having to transcode stuff and they're extremely inexpensive at Walmart.

Overpriced MacBooks Claim 20% of Notebook Market, Foolish Hipsters' Money

The problem with the article you guys did a while ago where you tested out several laptops is that the MacBook had a nice clean install of Vista that Maximum PC installed but the Dell XPS seemed to have been tested exactly the way it came from the factory, full of useless shovelware that criples most OEM systems. It's like they want to sabotage their own machines before the consumer even buys it.

It would be nice to compare them both with clean OSes and no extra junk messing them up.

Don't forget the new 16GB flash ZUNE too. If I didn't already have a ZEN I'd get a 16GB ZUNE for sure. I love the interface.

How To: Protect Any PC Using Windows Steady State

I'm going to try this out on my XP installation i use for testing stuff out. I know it will come in handy some day.

I have worked on public computers before but doing something like this was too much of a hassle. It's never caused too much trouble lately to just leave the system unprotected (I just have to uninstall any extra junk that gets installed once in a while) but in the past it was annoying how people would just fill the machines with useless junk not knowing how much damage they where doing to someone else's computer.

I know it's kind of dumb (and quite geeky) to reply to a post to correct grammar but I thought I might help people understand that WALA isn't a word.

It's actually VOILA. It's a french word that's made up of the words Voi and La meaning "See There".

Dell Allegedly Colludes with RIAA, Stereo Mix Disabled without Forewarning

Posted 07/10/2008 at 08:13:26am

That's just insane. The RIAA has a history of going too far and that just ads another stupid move to a list of stupid moves.

The RIAA and MPAA bully the biggest companies into doing stuff like this and because the general public doesn't know it's caused by arm-twisting from the RIAA they blame the product manufacturer instead of the people who are actually to blame. Even more annoying is that most people would probably go along with the ridiculous trend to blame MS for everything instead of the RIAA (or MPAA when it comes to the ridiculous lengths MS and other software/hardware manufacturers have to go to to please these bullying organizations when it comes to video recording and playback) or even Dell in this case who could have at least refused and taken a stand.

It's bullies secretly getting their way while the unpopular geeks get the blame.
