Windows 7 Gets Optimized For Intel Chips

Posted 07/26/2009 at 04:53:32pm

This is the dumbest thing that Microsoft can do. It automatically made my decision to NOT upgrade to Win 7 as I have a brand new AMD system. So, XP it is for now and the future...thank you Microsoft for saving me 320 bucks!

Actually you are not getting the News for free. I don't know about you but I have to pay an ISP to get on line to begin with, so in a sense you are paying for the news and anything else that is "free".

Games for Windows Ups Ante in Anti-Piracy Fight

Posted 03/29/2009 at 08:06:05am

Look at what happened to World of Goo, there was no DRM of any sort and the game was stolen 90% of the time and it only sold for 20 bucks. Of what I read, the game was fun to play and ran well and as a result they won't be producing another game. They have bills to pay and want to live good just like you and when they don't get paid for their efforts they stop writing games. We both loose in that scenario.

So, how do they protect themselves and give you total control over your game...after all you bought the game and want to play it when and where ever you want...just like you can with your older games. I have no idea and I don't think the Steam system is the way to go....businesses go out of business for any amount of reasons, now what happens to all the money you sunk into games on their system? Plus you don't have the games on DVDs, how do you use the game if you don't have the media and no way to unlock it?

There has to be a way to make both the gamer and developer happy, we just haven't found it yet....and we better if PC gaming is to continue.

Now this is a good idea as badly run servers will fall by the wayside and you won't waste your time on them.

The Witcher among Top 100 Best-Selling PC Games of All Time, Says Developer

Posted 03/08/2009 at 08:16:30am

I bought the game when it first came out and played through without and problems. I liked the game a lot and will play it again with the enhancement patch they made for the game.

If you are having problems playing this game look to your machine for problems with drivers. If the game crashes look in the Event Viewer for errors in the application and system logs. In those two logs you should find the info pointing to the game or drivers at fault.

Could Microsoft's TomTom Suit Spell Trouble for Linux?

Posted 02/28/2009 at 07:56:57pm

I think Microsoft is starting to see that people will not put up with their high handed crap for much longer. France told them to take a hike, Brazil and Cuba did the same. So the only way they can keep their monoply going is kill Linux any way they can. The best way to start a war is start probing and see how far you can get. This lawsuit is just the tip of the spear. With this suit I think they are trying to tell companies that if they use Linux they are going to get sued.

They are trying to scare companies into using their operating system only and no one elses, while the US government just sits idly by and does nothing to break up this monoply. They broke up Ma Bell and look what happened...nothing but good came from it in competition...if they didn't break them up you would still be using the old black phone they rented you. Competition works and monoplies don't.
