Enjoy a 3-4 Second Boot with Asrock's New Instant Boot Feature
Posted 11/14/2008 at 04:30:24pm
The article summed it up. The system is basically just put in standby mode ... so this is something you can already do. It's not truly shutting the system completely down and back on in 3-4 seconds.
Dont get what all the hype is anyways.
Either I:
A: Just leave my rig on.
B: Put it in sleep or hibernation
C: If completely shut down, I just turn it on and walk away.

Is Windows 7 M3 Build 6801 Really "Vista R2?"
Posted 11/12/2008 at 04:29:20pm
Eh, I don't see how they could get away with just releasing another Vista. I mean Vista has already been a huge failure and I am sure has cost Microsoft a lot of revenue, how can they afford to do it again?
As long as XP stays up no one has any reason to move.
Report: DRAM Makers Must 'Reduce or Retire'

I guess I just dont understand. It doesnt seem like the low price of ram is the problem, its the fact that too many different companies are mass producing it so no one company is getting a lot of business.
It would seem to me that if the ram continued at the same prices but with less manufacturers then they wouldnt be complaining ... or would they?
They are making enough per stick they are just getting gready and want to hike prices. Unless execs are making millions they aren't happen .. and even when they are they still want more.
All the companies are doing it right now. How much can I milk from one product. :/

Alcohol based? Hrm, I have always heard that you should stay away from anything alcohol based when it comes to an LCD or Plasma, especially with glossy screens. The alcohol can slowly (sometimes quickly depending on the quality of the display) eat away at the screen.
*Edit* Yeah, there are other articles out there saying to use alcohol but why bother to risk it long term if you can do the same thing with just water?
Personally, I would rather not find out either way. I just stick with a microfiber cloth and purified water. Even in certain lighting you can see that there is no evidence of even microscratches when you stick to those two things.

TrueHD 1080p + a good quality Blu-Ray Player + a newer/high budget film ... you will notice a huge difference.
We had a Panasonic 720p with an upconverting DVD player. When we got our first Samsung 1080p LCD and a PS3 it was awe inspiring. The difference was instantly realized.

Exactly, the article explains what this card is intended for. I would guess it might run games but not well at all. Not nearly what you would get from something like a 280 or 4870 X2.
Circuit City Closing 155 Stores, Not Just What I Needed

Honestly, I haven't shopped there in years but hate that they are closing. Less competition for places like Best Buy means higher prices for consumers. I have, on a number of occations, gotten large price match refund from Best Buy due to sales at Circuit City.
