WoW Tests out Microtransactions, Sells Virtual Pets for Real Money

Posted 11/05/2009 at 10:57:32am

True, vanity gear is still just vanity gear but the $10 is a slap in the face.

Think about it, if there are 10 million players and each one bought it (yeah I know that wont ever happen) then that would equal $100,000,000. Some guy took maybe a week tops to create that digital item from scratch. Is that act worth potentially more than any third world countries can even dream of and especially with the econemy the way it is right now?

Generally, companies only charge $1 or so for an item such as that. However, Blizzard knows they can get more out of their addicted fans.

Truthfully, Blizzard is no better than tobacco companies at the moment. They are just banking on their communities addiction.

Rumor: Mass Effect 2 to Receive Massive Amounts of DLC

Posted 11/03/2009 at 09:29:40am

My suggestion to anyone is to wait at least a year to purchase anything released witht he Bioware name on it unless it is for a console. Anything they release for PC is not only buggy as crap (to the extent you actually cannot play the game at all) but it takes then MONTHS (6+ months to release the FIRST patch for ME back when people couldn't play the game at all) to see a patch.

With that all that said, Bioware claimed last time they would have a TON of DLC and there has only been what, 1 episode since the games release?

Bioware is full of crap ... the end.

Hrm, guess I got lucky. I just installed Windows 7 on three computers this weekend with the home premium family pack upgrade and on two of the computers I deleted the partitions and formatted then proceeded to install. I activated all my copies yesterday with one day left to do so.

Verizon CTO Predicts that Metered Broadband is the Future

Why cant corporate America be honest for once? They don't mean to say that metered broadband is the future. They really mean to say they are going to start limiting broadband and we better like it or else! It's always cool to proclaim your idea or product is the wave of the future when really it's only in your head. Corporate America, shoving crap down your throat since 1492.
