The last time I paid $50 for a headset, they broke just after the warranty expired (the warranty was only for a few months). I then bought a Corsair Vengeance 1100 (behind-the-ear) headset and those only lasted about 4-5 months before I RMA'd it for a replacement which only lasted another few months. I've been debating on getting either the Corsair "Raptor Gaming" headsets that range from $20-$40 or a headset from Rocksoul (I think owned by AWA Technology, a brand I have no clue about) for like $8. My ultimate "last resort" choice would be to get a SteelSeries for a higher price tag but I just don't want a headset that feels like it's gonna snap at any moment.

Anywho, I think my brother ordered a pair of these on Amazon and they should be here within the next couple of days. Hopefully they'll work nicely for him.

Does anyone know if those Steelseries Siberia V2 are fake on ebay I emailed steelseries and said the pairs selling for under 40.00 are indeed fakes. But they must be pretty darn good fakes if people buy them by the truckload. SO I bought one set from Amazon (legit) one set from ebay suspicion of being fake. So I'll have the pleasure of comparing the both of them.

I bought a pair of Logitech G930s a few months ago and have been really loving them. Good sound quality, and I like the wireless feature. Found a pair at Best Buy and asked them to match Amazon's price. Walked away with them for $75.

I wouldnt consider these "trash", but there are indeed much better brands that are commonly overlooked due to the fact that they arent branded as "gaming" headphones. I would consider these headphones for about $10-$15 less, because thats honestly what their performance is maybe worth. Aesthetically speaking, these are visually appealing headphones. In the end, the consumer ends up paying extra money for the Triton name, which, isnt worth much itself anymore.

Word, they aren't exactly trash but they're not worth the price. It's the same thing as those "Beat's by Dre" headphones. You pay for the name and get low quality stuff for a premium price. I've been using my Sony MDR-7506's for 5 years now and they've been great. Had to replace the ear pads once, but they're amazing for the price I paid for them back then (~$80). Currently looking at a pair of Sennheiser's though for open-eared headphones for gaming and going to use my Sony's on my turntables.

I have to agree with you guys i have owned 2 sets of tritton brand head phones, and i never could get either pair to work right. They have since went into the garbage can at $300 a piece. Now i am rolling with steel series headphones.

I'm amazed people buy into these trash-tier headphones only because they're marketed as "gaming headphones". You can get headphones of way better quality at around the same pricepoint from Sony and others.
