Valve is serving up something a little different via Steam, its digital distribution platform for games. The "Daily Deal" on Steam is for the latest version of Futuremark's 3DMark benchmark, which you can snag for $8.49. That's a 66 percent discount over its normal selling price of $24.95. The cool thing about the latest 3DMark release is that it's a cross-platform benchmark for Windows, Android, iOS, and Windows RT (coming soon), allowing you to compare scores from two totally different devices.

ASRock and BMW Group DesignworksUSA collaborated on a small form factor (SFF) system called M8 that offers "unstoppable gaming" and lots of other hyperbole, though before we get into the nuts and bolts of the machine, a little background is in order. ASRock, as you probably already know, is a player in the PC space and was originally formed as a subsidiary of Asus. It's now a part of Pegatron, which itself was spun off from Asus.

Either way, AMD has a new set of beta drivers available for Radeon graphics card owners, and among the additions are game profiles for single GPU and CrossFire setups for BF4.
When you think about it, we've been spoiled by the advances in technology. It's been several years now, but there was a time when gaming laptops would cost almost as much as a new car. The cost of entry has come way down since then, and serving as a reminder of this are a pair of new gaming laptops from Velocity Micro, the 17.3-inch NoteMagix M17 and 15.6-inch NoteMagix M15 LE.
Outside of Valve, arguably no company has been more excited about the Steam Machine (previously known as Steam Box) platform than Xi3, makers of the pint sized Piston Console. Following Valve's trio of announcements last week, we know that that there won't be a singular Steam Machine, but multiple options from third party vendors, and it looks like Xi3 will be one of the first out of the gate.

According to MSI, these new laptops offer the ideal combination of the on-the-go productivity, multimedia entertainment, and gaming performance. What's most tantalizing, however, are the price tags.
Unveiled at CES 2013, the Piston console has long been suspected to be a Steam Machine
Utah-based modular computer manufacturer Xi3 created a lot of buzz when it trotted out the diminutive Piston console at CES 2013, leading many to speculate whether it was actually a Steam Machine (or “Steam Box,” as was the preferred term back then). The company’s chief marketing manager David Politis played it coy when online editor Jimmy Thang probed him on the matter. Now, the company says it will reveal additional details about the Piston on Monday, September 30.
