Maximum PC Editor Jimmy Thang talks about his experience walking the show floor as a zombie
I've been to many costume-friendly conventions like FanimeCon and Pax Prime, but have never cosplayed before. I don't have anything against dressing up, but I simply never felt compelled to do it. I was always the guy on the other end of the camera…until this past weekend.
Because our Comic Con booth was Walking Dead-themed, we were fortunate enough to have a "zombification booth" where makeup artists would turn ordinary civilians into the undead. Considering the makeover was free and professionally done, I figured I would give it a go on the last day of the convention. …The results were far more shocking than I could have ever expected.

I loved sci-fi, comics, and fantasy for decades before I realized I could get paid to review computer hardware. And I love Comic-Con, because it doesn’t have anything to do with computer hardware and has everything to do with the stuff I like in my spare time. There’s no way I’ll be able to hit everything I want to see in the three days I’ll be there, but thanks to the handy scheduling app at the comic-con website, I'll give it my best shot. Here's what I'm looking forward to.

This is it – the post you've been waiting for. After four days of wandering the show floor, sitting in on movie studio panels, and epic line waiting, we've come out of Comic-Con 2009 with the mother load: 600 (yes, SIX HUNDRED) photos of the most intricate, sexy, and spellbinding cosplay that showed up this year. Star Wars and Superheroes were well represented, but we also snapped up shots of PC gaming icons, including several Team Fortress 2 teams and an amazing Left 4 Dead group. Legions of slave Leias weren't afraid to bare their skin and the forces of Cobra proudly showed off their guns. We even saw a bunch of familiar faces from last year's pictorial. Grab and seat, put your day on hold, and enjoy the best cosplay gallery from the best year of Comic-Con ever!
