Hitherto, OnLive has been widely viewed as the cloud gaming industry’s poster child, but don’t be surprised if it eventually ends up getting overshadowed by its lesser known rival Gaikai. This is because the latter is joining forces with the world’s largest television manufacturer.
Unfazed by the general public’s poor response to first-generation Chrome OS hardware, Google and Samsung have introduced a couple of new devices featuring the cloud-based OS. The Series 5 550 is an update to last year’s Series 5 chromebook, whereas the Series 3 Chromebox is the first of its kind.
The next time you go shopping for a high definition television, don't be surprised to find that TVs from Sony and Samsung consistently cost more than the competition. Samsung on Thursday introduced it's third generation Galaxy S smartphone at a press event in London. The Galaxy S III is "designed for humans and inspired by nature" and is unique in the way it interacts with the person holding it. Samsung spent a great deal of time talking about the Galaxy S III's "enhanced intelligence" technology, things like advanced voice recognition and the ability to detect your face and motion.

Samsung today officially introduced what it claims is the world's first quad-core application processor built on the High-k Metal Gate (HKMG) low-power process technology. It's called the Exynos 4 Quad, a 32nm 1.4GHz quad-core processor based on the ARM Cortex A9 architecture. With twice as many cores as its predecessor, the 45nm Exynos 4 Dual, Samsung claims the Exynos 4 Quad doubles the processing potential with a 20 percent lower power footprint.
Verizon Wireless is having a fire sale on Samsung's first generation Galaxy Tab devices, presumably to make room for recently announced Galaxy Tab 2 tablets, which will be available to purchase on April 22, 2012. For those looking to save a little scratch, the first generation 7-inch Galaxy Tab is now selling for just $50 at VZW, which includes a discount for locking yourself into a 2-year service agreement with a qualifying data plan.

Say what you want about Samsung's gigantic Galaxy Note hybrid smartphone/tablet device -- it's too big for a phone, too small for a tablet, a jack of two trades but master of none, or whatever -- the phablet is finding buyers. To wit, Samsung Korea today announced that it has shipped over 5 million Galaxy Note devices around the globe so far, and it has yet to touch ground in Japan.
