If you think you're excited about the launch of Windows 7, you should check out Toshiba, who today announced a boatload of laptops ready for the OS's release.

Running the gamut from netbooks to full-blown desktop replacements, the lowest model in Toshiba's upcoming totem pole includes the 10.1-inch NB200 netbook series. For $400, you'll find a typical spec sheet consisting of an Intel Atom N280 processor, 1GB of DDR RAM a 160GB hard drive, and other decidedly netbookish specs.

Further up the pricing ladder is Toshiba's Satellite A500 series, which will sport a 16-inch HD screen. Underneath the hood, users will have a choice between an Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Turion II Ultra foundation. Pricing starts at $590.

Towards the top sits the Satellite P500 series. These laptops will come with an 18.4-inch HD screen and also give users a choice between an Intel or AMD processor. Some models will also include a Blu-ray player and illuminating LED backlit keyboard.

And then there's the Qosmio X500 desktop replacement laptop, which will be available in two configurations. One will come with an 18.4-inch HD screen, 320GB  hard drive spinning at 7200RPM, and 4GB of memory, while the other will boast two hard drives and a 64GB SSD, along with 6GB of memory. Pricing will start at $1,450 and $1,900 respectively.

Toshiba has plenty of other models on tap for an October 22nd launch, and so will everyone else. Stay tuned!

Toshiba had last year chosen its Qosmio range of notebooks to lift the curtain on its SpursEngine chip, which is a co-processor based on the Cell Broadband Engine found in the PS3. SpursEngine-powered Qosmios are capable of some impressive graphical feats like real-time graphics processing and video upscaling (SD to HD).

Toshiba’s new Qosmio laptops, which bear the might of its quad-core SpursEngine chip, will arrive in Japanese stores on Friday with the promise of enhancing internet video. Two previous iterations of the Qosmio used the immense power of the SpursEngine at their disposal to upscale DVD video, but left streaming video untouched.

The SpursEngine co-processor will now be used to beautify video from websites like Youtube, though its corrective effect will only become evident in full screen mode. There is another strange caveat: this feature will only work with Internet Explorer. The new Qosmios include the 18.4-inch G50 ($3,421) and the 15.4-inch FX ($2,119). A U.S release is certainly on the cards but no one has the slightest whiff of exactly when it will occur.

Toshiba recently updated their line of Qosmio and Dynabook laptops with upgraded graphics and processing power.

The Qosmios will come in two flavors, including the 18.4-inch G50 ($3,421) and the 15.4-inch FX ($2,119). Relative newcomer, the 14.1-inch Dynabook SS RX2 (pictured), will come with a 128GB SSD, and cost $2,840. All of these will come with Intel Core 2 Duo processors and Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT graphics processors.

Though, unless you’re currently living in Japan or are willing to import one of these from overseas, you won’t be getting your hands on one of these anytime soon. Currently, they’re only available in the land of the rising sun, with no mention of plans to bring them to these here United States.

Toshiba has expanded its Qosmio and Satellite laptop families. Up first is the new Qosmio X305-Q725 that has been designed keeping the gamer in mind. The notebook has a 17-inch display and derives all its muscle from an Intel Core 2 Quad processor and its NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GTX GPU. As for storage, it has a 64GB SSD. The design is unpalatable and nearly every sensible man can be expected to bristle at its very sight. The ugly Qosmio can be yours for $2,699.99 only.

Toshiba has also unveiled a 15-inch budget notebook under its Satellite sub-brand with a price tag of $549. The Satellite L305-S5921 is a no-frills notebook with a T3400 Pentium processor, 2GB of DDR2 SDRAM, a 160GB HDD and 128MB of Intel integrated graphics.

The Satellite E105-S1402 is the third notebook to have been launched. It has a 14-inch display, an Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 processor, 320GB HDD, 4GB memory and 320GB HDD. It is available now for 1,199.

Lastly, Toshiba has also rolled out customized color lids for many of its Protégé family of notebooks.

It looks like Toshiba has been keeping the Japanese gamer market satisfied lately, with a very beefy line of Qosmio laptops that boast some pretty impressive stats.

The Qosmio line has been pretty successful, releasing some 20 notebooks over in the land of the rising sun. Their most recent additions include the Qosmio FX (15.4-inch screen) and GX (18.4-inch screen). Both feature a 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo P8600, an Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT, 4GB of RAM and a 320GB HDD.

Their even beefier SpursEngine G50 will feature the same specs of the FX and GX, but with the addition of a SpursEngine graphics system, a second 250GB HDD, a digital TV Tuner, four USB ports, a eSATA socket, 1.3-mexapixel camera, a fingerprint sensor and a dual-layer DVD burner.

The pricing has been listed between $2,327 and $3,767, and they should be available before the end of the year.

The Cell processor hasn’t been featured in any daily-use tech gadgets save the PS3. But Toshiba has put the powerful Cell into a notebook and most certainly pulled off a coup. The Qosmio G50 and F40 machines Tosh notebooks will feature its Cell-derived SpursEngine SE1000 chip, which is essentially a co-processor supposed to handle heavy-duty processing fare like real-time graphics.

Cnet reports that Intel's upcoming Centrino 2 processors are beginning to preview at resellers, as backordered of course. HP's 6930p Toshiba's Qosmio G55 and others are among the first laptops expected to use new Intel’s latest mobile processor. Even though Intel’s "Montevina" Centrino 2 mobile platform roll out was scaled back by Intel in May, processors are still slated for July 14th. Intel may be feeling a bit of heat from AMD’s roll out of “Puma” their next generation mobile processor for the fall 'back to school' sales.

The Centrino 2 is offering low-power processors with TDPs as low as 5W. That should offer us a nice long battery life. Better graphics processing is in the cards with the inclusion of the GM45 chipset, a much needed improvement for integrated graphics laptops with Vista. Rumor has it that these CPUs will eventually have Wi-MAX support. Some earlier leaked details have processor offerings between 2.26GHz and 3.06GHz and having up to 5 cores.
