In Greek mythology, Erebus is a primordial deity representing the personification of darkness. Given that overclocking was once considered a dark art, we suppose it's only fitting that iBuyPower would name a liquid cooled gaming system begging to be overclocked after the god of darkness. New and improved for the modern worshipper, the Erebus GT is similar to iBuyPower's first generation system, but has been redesigned with a smaller footprint.

For those of you who prefer not to roll your own gaming machines and would rather have a boutique system builder do it for your, Maingear, based out of New Jersey, announced it has begun equipping its Shift and F131 rigs with AMD's new Radeon HD 7950 and 7970 graphics cards (check out our performance preview of the 7970 here), and will soon be offering them in its Vybe series.

Acer might be splitting hairs over a few millimeters here, but the company claims its new Aspire S5 Ultrabook is the thinnest the world has ever seen. The S5 is a 13.3-inch hunk of notebook that measures a scant 15mm at its thickest point and weighs less than 3 pounds. It has a magnesium-aluminum alloy cover and palmrest with a brushed metallic motif. Acer put considerable thought into the S5's appearance, molding it with "clean and ultra-fluid contours" that can be seen from all angles.

Most vendors are using the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas as a launchpad for new products, but a select few are tipping their hand ahead of the convention. Hewlett-Packard is one of them, presumably because it's saving CES for its big Spectre Ultrabook reveal. In the meantime, HP has decided to share a handful of new systems, including its first 27-inch all-in-one (AIO) PC and a Phoenix gaming system the OEM claims is the "most powerful HP Pavilion PC to date."
