Vizio will take a step towards ditching its reputation as strictly a value driven brand when it launches its upcoming CinemaWide 58-inch HDTV with Theater 3D technology next month. It's due in stores just in time for the NCAA's March Madness college basketball tournament and will set shoppers back a cool $3,500, about three times more expensive than some regular 55-inch HDTVs on the market.
We prefer to turn on our monitors than to be turned on by them, but hey, to each their own. If a head-turning display is what you're after, ViewSonic says its latest LED has a "seductively curved frame with piano-black mirrored surface." Sounds delightful, but what really excites us is the 23-inch IPS panel ViewSonic equipped its new VX2336s-LED monitor with.
NEC is getting ready to drop its second MultiSync EA Series monitor on the U.S. market this month, the EA243WM. It's a 24-inch Full HD (1920x1200) TN panel with LED backlighting that takes aim at high-performance enterprise users with a slim profile, lightweight design, and increased power savings compared to previous models. There's a Customize Setting that allows IT admins to set and restore specific monitor settings with a single touch.
Talk about multitasking. While LG Electronics gets ready to introduce the world to a
Maybe your budget doesn't allow for a 30-inch IPS monitor, especially after the holiday shopping season left us all a little lighter in the wallet. Or perhaps you don't have room for a ginormous panel, or a strong enough videocard to drive a super high screen resolution. On the other end of the spectrum is Hewlett-Packard's new Compaq-branded LE2002xm monitor, a 20-inch LED backlit LCD display priced at an even $155.
ViewSonic expanded its 3D portfolio this morning with the launch of its V3D231, a new 23-inch 3D-ready LED monitor with a 2ms response time, 20,000,000:1 contrast ratio (dynamic, of course), and affordable price tag. As you might expect, ViewSonic is really playing up the ultra-fast response time, saying it's equally suited for 3D gaming and delivering broadcast quality, full-motion video.
BenQ is getting ready to release a new 22-inch LED display intended for business users, but is sexy enough to find its way into a few homes as well. It's the BenQ BL2201PTE and according to the translated press release, it's available in "classic black." The pictures, however, show a glossy white bezel with somewhat of an Apple flair, but arguably better looking.
Back in December, we reviewed LG’s E2350v—a serviceable display that featured a two-way stand and energy-efficient design as well as some poor quality blacks and a frustrating menu experience—so it was with a skeptical eye that we tackled its big brother, the E2370v. An IPS display with a slim brushed aluminum bezel, the E2370v shows that it’s nothing like its little brother.
Those of you rocking and rolling over in Europe have six new LED monitors to choose from today, all from Acer and all sporting slim profiles that measure just 13mm (barely more than half an inch, for the anti metric system crowd). These are TN panels ranging in size from 19 inches to 24 inches with contrast ratios of up to 100,000,000:1 (dynamic, of course).
The Thermaltake Chaser MK-1 is a steel-construction, full-tower chassis, 22.4 inches high by 9.3 inches wide by 22.9 inches deep and weighing 27 pounds. Sitting mean and green (or red, or blue, depending on your fan LED settings), MK-1 combines striking looks with state-of-the-art features, all bundled into an affordable $160 package.
