If climbing hard drive prices have you singing the mechanical storage blues, perhaps it's time to start shopping a solid state drive (SSD). You won't save any money by stepping up to an SSD, nor will you find one that offers a better price-to-gigabyte ratio than an HDD, but at least you'll know the price you paid isn't higher than what it was a month ago for the same drive. Need more temptation? Kingston says its next generation SSDNow Series for
A couple of Swiss overclockers set a pair of memory overclocking records using a 2GB dual-channel kit of Kingston's high frequency HyperX DDR3-2544 memory (KHX2544C9D3T1FK2/2GX). It's the fastest dual-channel memory kit around, and thanks to Roger Tanner "splmann" and Marc Voser "Besi," it's also the kit responsible for setting frequency records at CAS 6 and CAS 8.
Ever get the feeling you're being watched? That's because you are. If you're not wearing one of
Kingston Technology has ported its SSDNow solid state drive line to the business side with the launch of its KC100, the company's first SATA III (6Gbps) business-equipped SSD. A SandForce controller directs the action and is largely responsible the KC100's high read and write speeds, but there's more to this drive series than raw performance.
Hey, hardcore computer users; Kingston hasn't forgotten about you. After solidifying their base and getting their SSD feet wet in the low-end consumer market, Kingston has teamed up with SandForce for the first time in order to release a high-end SSD capable of pleasing gamers and hardware geeks alike. The company announced today that the super-fast Kingston HyperX SSD is finally shipping to US customers.
Memory maker Kingston Technology announced today the launch of its USB 3.0 Media Reader. Kingston's new compact media card reader taps into the performance benefits of SuperSpeed USB 3.0 and offers up to 5Gb/s data transfers for high-resolution images, large data files, and anything else you need to shuttle over to your PC.
As far as solid state drives go, Kingston Technology up to this point has mostly been focused on value driven and enterprise-class SSDs, having only recently announced its enthusiast grade HyperX SSD line. Through the combination of the three, Kingston reckons it will move some 1 million SSDs by the end of the year at a clip of more than 100,000 units every month.
Why lug around a USB 2.0 flash drive when you could slip a SuperSpeed USB 3.0 stick onto your keychain? Oh, your PC isn't equipped with a USB 3.0 port? Point taken as we shake an angry fist at Intel and AMD. Still, at some point USB 3.0 ports will become commonplace, so if you're the type that likes to think ahead, a USB drive like Kingston's DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 Generation 2 (DTU30G2) is about as future proof as you can get at the moment.
