Antivirus founder's wild ride isn't over.

John McAfee, the British-American programmer who used to work for NASA before founding McAfee Associates (now owned by Intel), a computer antivirus company, no longer has a home in Belize. Apparently his island abode burned down last Thursday amid circumstances he deemed "suspicious," according to a FoxNews.com report (don't hate, this guy's bizarre circumstances screams FoxNews, does it not?).

John McAfee claims his crazy escapades were all an act.

This whole time it appeared that John McAfee, founder of McAfee antivirus (now owned by Intel) had lost his marbles, but really he was just playing the "crazy card" in hopes of trumping Belizean officials. Seeing as how the 67-year-old is now back in the United States, his convincing plan appears to have worked. It came at a cost, however, as McAfee says he left his fortune behind.

John McAfee at Beach After being on the run for three weeks, John McAfee was arrested on Wednesday by Guatemalan police, who said they would seek to expel the antivirus founder to Belize. McAfee had been identified as "a person of interest" in the murder of Gregory Faull, an American expatriate who was shot to death in his home in San Pedro Town on the island of Ambergris Caye. The two men and former neighbors had a history of arguing over various issues, including the time Fauli filed a complaint against McAfee for firing off guns and exhibiting "roguish behavior." The last known dispute they had was over dogs.

John McAfee Head The tech industry is at timea a bizarre business, but it's not too often that a high profile security software guru is wanted for murder. As wild and crazy as it sounds, that sums up the situation surrounding John McAfee -- yes, THAT McAfee -- who is reportedly on the run from murder charges, and not for killing PC performance (ZING!). And guess what? Murder is only the tip of the iceberg.
