Maxthon's developers have officially joined the ranks of braggadocios browser makers who puff out their chest and claim their online vehicle is the fastest around. You may recall that Maxthon (originally called MyIE2) started as a nifty shell of Internet Explorer that brought tabbed browsing to the IE experience. Now dubbed "Maxthon Cloud Browser," these days it stands on its own two feet.
In-demand fiber service coming to only a handful of places
Google has been laying low about plans to bring its exponentially quick Google Fiberservice to areas around the United States, and we took you to its first point of installation in Kansas City back in September to check out the facility and demo for yourself. Since then, the service has only been rolled out to one additional location: Provo, Utah. It's a slow-going process, with Google having only announced one additional locale for 2014: Austin, Texas.

It's a virtual market with new, fixed-priced titles arriving each day. Similar to the Humble Bundles you may have participated in, part of the proceeds goes to charity -- in this case, ten percent to select charities including the American Red Cross, Child's Play, and the Electronic Frontier Foundation.
Damage estimated at $600,000, group asks for donations
A fire damaged the Internet Archive's scanning center located in San Francisco late last night, though luckily no one was hurt and no existing data was lost, the organization said. The Internet Archive is the non-profit group responsible for the Wayback Machine, a digital archive of the web spanning 364 billion webpages, allowing visitors to see what sites looked like several years ago.
Is this a sign that Apple's 2nd Gen iPad mini is in short supply?
Apple devices are incredibly popular and it's not unusual for there to be a shortage of whatever new gadget just came out. Coming soon, the hot new item Apple will be pimping is a new iPad mini with Retina display. There have been plenty of rumors leading up to the 2nd generation iPad mini's launch suggesting Retina panels for the device are in relatively short supply, which might explain why Apple is suddenly interested in shutting down inventory tracker websites.
Game publisher aims to improve upon OnLive’s technological missteps
Square Enix has announced Project Flare, a cloud gaming service similar to what OnLive offered back in 2010. Unlike OnLive, however, the game publisher asserts that the company’s service will offer a “technological breakthrough in cloud gaming.”
Most listerers are using iTunes Radio to supplement Pandora, not replace it
Fans of Pandora can exhale now, the streaming service survived its biggest challenge yet -- iTunes Radio. There was some speculation that iTunes Radio could ultimately push Pandora out of the market by stealing away its listeners, but not only has that not happened, Pandora responded by serving up 1.47 billion hours of music in October, the second highest monthly level in the history of the company.
If you're shopping on Amazon's website and hoping to score free shipping, you may have to increase your order size. Previously, Amazon offered its customers free "Super Saving" shipping on qualifying orders of at least $25, but for the first time in over 10 years, the e-tailer decided to bump up the minimum order amount. You must now spend $35 on qualifying items to receive free shipping.
With today's addition of the Windows Phone platform, you can now download and install the Maxthon Cloud Browser (MCB) to devices based on any of the top three mobile operating systems (Android and iOS being the other two). It's designed to make navigating the web from multi-devices a little easier, and one way it does that is by syncing your favorites online so that they're accessible to other devices using MCB.
