With little fanfare, Google has launched a version of their popular Google Reader service on Android this week. The app is free in the Android Market and comes with some useful features. Unlike some of the Google apps, this one will support multiple Google accounts, and will sync preferences from those accounts. Users are able to search and subscribe from the phone as well.
Google, being Google, threw in a few Easter eggs too. If you enable volume key navigation in the settings, you can page through items using your phone's volume keys. Long-pressing on a folder lets you rename it, move it, or unsubscribe. The app also integrates sharing with other apps on the phone. This option is under the More section when viewing a story. Links can be dropped right into Twitter, Messaging, Gmail, and many other third-party apps.
If you're an Android user, will the official Google Reader app make you use to service more?
