Plenty happening at Google I/O.
Google was widely expected to bring some new toys to the table today, the opening day of the company's annual I/O developer's conference, and boy, Sergey and co. sure didn't disappoint. The long-rumored Google Nexus tablet is no longer just a rumor, Jelly Bean -- a.k.a. Android 4.1 -- is official, and the company's even moving into the multimedia space with the launch of the Nexus Q multimedia streamer.
If the latest rumors are true, Google is getting ready to attack the 7-inch tablet (or "tweener," as Steve Jobs referred to them) market in a big way with a Nexus device it jointly developed with Asus. Word on the Web is that the two companies will unveil the aggressively priced 7-inch Nexus tablet at Google I/O, which will take place at San Francisco's Moscone Center next week (June 27 through 29). How aggressive?
Google’s Spring conference, known as Google I/O is one of the most anticipated events in tech these days. The search giant demos new products, talks about big ideas, and gives away a ton of gadgets. But Google I/O 2012 is going to be a little different. The conference has been pushed back nearly 2 months to late June, and developers might have to prove themselves worthy to even get in.
