It's time to give away a free gaming rig to one of our lucky followers - this time it's a CyberPower Inc. Hadron Hydro 300 small form factor gaming machine. It's a fully-loaded Core i7-4770K machine with a liquid-cooled GTX 780, and has dual 840 EVO SSDs despite its small dimensions. No purchase is necessary and it's available to US and Canadian residents!
To apply, answer this question, "What is the name of the chip that powers the Nvidia GeForce GTX 780?" on our Facebook page.

Giveaway at ISTE 2013 will be followed by discount offer during the back-to-school season
After giving them away to TechED attendees for just $99 a pop, Microsoft is now getting ready to sell the Surface RT to K12 and higher education institutions at a slightly higher, yet pretty “aggressive”, price of $199. Given all the reports of a large unsold inventory and recent murmurs about a Qualcomm-powered version, it seems as if Microsoft is trying to get rid of all those unsold Surface RT tablets in a jiffy.
Five questions with the winner of our Maingear/AMD giveaway
Last month we gave away a righteous rig (equipped with a i7-3770K CPU, two AMD Radeon HD 7970s in crossfire, and 8GB ofCorsair Dominator Platinum RAM in a sleek Maingear F131 chassis) courtesy of AMD and Maingear on our Facebook page, and a enthusiastic gentleman named Sean Pisto from Canadia was the lucky recipient of the prize. We asked him to share with us whether or not he thought he was going to win, what his old gaming PC was running, and what it was like to take it out of the box for the first time. The Q&A is posted in the full story!
If there’s one thing readers of Maximum PC can appreciate, it’s a ludicrously sized GPU like the PowerColor Devil 13 HD 7990. This unholy video card combines the power of two Radeon HD 7970 GPUs along with 6GB of RAM into a massive, power-sucking, case-hogging, and benchmark flogging masterpiece. Notable features include one-touch overclocking, a triple-fan cooling solution that takes up three slots inside your PC, and a custom assortment of tools from legendary tool-maker Wiha. It should also be noted that this video card is so muscle-bound that it comes with its own support stand, for Pete’s sake.
In case you haven't heard, there's this new product on the market called an "iPad." It's some sort of tablet with a screen, we guess?
No, no, we kid. Of course the new iPad is out, and a big deal, and it's got a glorious screen and tons of apps and all that good stuff. What's more, our sister site Mac|Life is giving away a new iPad, for free, and all you have to do is visit them on social media and comment on their article. Even if you're not the worlds biggest Apple fan, can you turn down the chance to win a sweet new gadget for nothing more than 30 seconds of your time?
Update: Last day! Enter now if you hadn't already for a chance at 25 great prizes!
Hopefully you've had a chance to check out our list of 50 Websites You Need to See Before You Die. If you have, you know that we're planning to run that list, with 100 entries, as the cover story for the February issue of Maximum PC. Problem is, we need 50 more. That's where you come in.
Read the list, then tell us what you think should be added to it. Remember, like the original story says, we're looking for sites that are "not the kind of website you put in your bookmarks bar and come back to again and again--they're the kind that you email to your friends along with a note that says 'holy s*** check this out.'"
What in it for you? Well, we've got TWENTY FIVE prizes to give away, and everyone who enters a site that makes it onto our list is entered to win. If two of your sites make it onto the list, you've got two chances to win. We'll pick the winners by random drawing on Monday the 29th, so you've got a little under one week to enter.
Here are the prizes:
1 - ThermalTake Challenger Gaming Keyboard Pro
1 - Corsair HS1 USB Gaming Headset
1 - Razer Ironclad Gaming Mouse Mat
2 - Android Collectible Minis from Dyzplastic
10 - Copies of Inception on Blu-Ray from Warner Brothers
10 - Copies of Inception on DVD from Warner Brothers
That's 25 great prizes for 50 entries. Come up with a good site, and your chances of winning are very good.

Who here likes getting something for nothing? Everyone? Good, because once again our friends over at Warner Home Video have given us a whole bunch of DVDs and Blu-rays to give away, and this time we're going to make it very easy for you to win. The movie is Clash of the Titans, and all you have to do to be entered to win is follow us on Twitter. Here's what Warner says about the film:
In Clash of the Titans, the ultimate struggle for power pits men against kings and kings against gods. But the war between the gods themselves could destroy the world. Born of a god but raised as a man, Perseus (Sam Worthington) is helpless to save his family from Hades (Ralph Fiennes), vengeful god of the underworld. With nothing to lose, Perseus volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to defeat Hades before he can seize power from Zeus (Liam Neeson) and unleash hell on earth.
Own it on Blu-ray™ Combo Pack and DVD 7/27
That's right, all you have to do follow us on Twitter (we're @maximumpc), and one week from today (that's Wednesday, August 4th) we'll pick 20 random winners from our who pool of Twitter followers to get a copy of the movie, (either DVD Blu-ray, given out first come first serve).
