There are now 80 Linux titles available on Steam.

Valve co-founder Gabe Newell is probably sitting in a room right now looking over the various Linux titles available on Steam and, in his best Mr. Burns voice, saying "Excellent" with his fingers clasped together. With the introduction of Counter Strike: Condition Zero (CS:CZ) to Valve's Linux catalog, the number of Linux games available on Steam now sits at exactly 80 titles, Valve announced in a blog post.

Nvidia GeForce 314.14 Beta Drivers Now Available to Download

GeForce GTX 680 owners will see performance gains in several titles using Nvidia's latest drivers.

Nvidia on Monday made available new beta drivers for GeForce graphics card owners. The GeForce 314.14 drivers, while not yet officially certified, are said to increase performance by up to 23 percent for GeForce 400, 500, and 600 series GPUs in several PC games versus the GeForce 314.07 WHQL-certified drivers. Naturally, results will vary depending on your particular setup.

Linux Users Come Out of the Woodwork in Latest Steam Hardware Survey

The number of Linux users on Steam more than doubled last month.

Fearing Microsoft will build a walled garden around Windows 8, Valve co-founder Gabe Newell began focusing Steam development on Linux, and that effort is starting to show up in the real world. To wit, the latest Steam Hardare Survey reveals that Linux usage on Steam has more than doubled in February, jumping from 0.8 percent a month prior to 2.02 percent currently.

Conan O'Brien Reviews Tomb Raider

Square Enix is planning to release a new Tomb Raider game on March 5, 2013 for the PlayStaton 3, Xbox 360, and Microsoft Windows, which will be the first in the franchise to receive an "M" (Mature) rating. In another first, the new Tomb Raider title will make use of AMD's TressFX Hair technology, resulting in the most realistic hair in a video game you've seen to date. Should you rush out and buy it? To help you make that decision (or, more accurately, to provide a few laughs), talk show host Conan O'Brien reviewed the upcoming title.

Boy oh boy, with the free promotions out there adding up, it's starting to look like if you paid for Far Cry 3, you're doing it wrong. Far Cry 3 was featured in AMD's "Never Settle" game bundles, Samsung was giving it away with the purchase of its 840 Series solid state drives (SSDs) during Cyber Monday, and now OCZ is working the free Far Cry 3 promotion with the purchase of select Vector SSDs.

The Acer H6510BD projector offers instant 2D to 3D conversion in HD with no extra software required.

Acer on Thursday announced that it's H6510BD projector for displaying 3D movies and games is now available in the United States. The H6510BD features Full HD 1080p support and converts 2D content passed through the HDMI port to 3D on-the-fly without any extra software. It also supports all the popular 3D technologies, including Blu-ray 3D, DLP 3D, and Nvidia 3DTV Play.

AMD Catalyst 13.2 Beta Drivers Improve Performance in Crysis 3

With six beta releases under its belt, certified Catalyst 13.2 drivers can't be far behind.

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) this week released its Catalyst 13.2 Beta 6 driver for Radeon graphics cards. The latest build resolves minor anti-aliasing corruption seen in Crysis 3, improves Hitmat Absolution Crossfire scaling, and fixes graphical corruption on objects and textures in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. It also includes all the fixes and enhancements found in the previous beta releases.

StarCraft II themed peripherals from Razer are back once more.

If you missed out on your chance to pick up a StarCraft II-themed gaming mouse, keyboard, or headset, Razer's giving you another chance. The gaming peripheral maker today announced the re-launch of its StarCraft II peripheral lineup in anticipation of Blizzard's StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm expansion that's due to release on March 12, 2013. All three peripherals, now available, are geared for real-time strategy (RTS) games.

Nvidia Releases GeForce 314.07 WHQL Drivers Tuned for Crysis 3

Nvidia's latest drivers boost performance by up to 65 percent, the GPU maker claims.

Today's a monumental day for gamers, You have the release of Nvidia's GeForce Titan graphics card, Crysis 3 is finally here, and related to them both, Nvidia has made available new WHQL drivers optimized for the aforementioned game, along with Far Cry 3, Assassin's Creed 3, and other popular titles. If you're planning to pick up Crysis 3, Nvidia says its new GeForce 314.07 drivers will improve single-GPU and multi-GPU performance by up to 4.7 percent and 65 percent, respectively.

To celebrate the release of Steam for Linux, over 50 titles are now 50-75 percent off.

After lots of talk and months of beta testing, a Steam client for Linux is now available, Valve announced today. Could this be the beginning of a new era in gaming? It's far too early to know for sure, though Valve's Gabe Newell has let it be known in no uncertain terms that he's not happy with the direction Microsoft has taken its Windows platform, which ultimately led to Valve fast-tracking its Steam client for Linux.
