Those of you rocking and rolling over in Europe have six new LED monitors to choose from today, all from Acer and all sporting slim profiles that measure just 13mm (barely more than half an inch, for the anti metric system crowd). These are TN panels ranging in size from 19 inches to 24 inches with contrast ratios of up to 100,000,000:1 (dynamic, of course).
ViewSonic tells us its new 24-inch LED monitor (VX2451MHP-LED) is designed to compliment an Apple Mac environment, but is also appropriate "for those who appreciate good design and want something different." What's different about this display is its all white frame and stand complimented by an ultra-slim body that measures just a hair over 1.4 inches (3.6 centimeters if you want to be all metric about it).
AOC just sent us word about a new 16-inch USB monitor (e1649fwu) it designed to transform your single-display notebook into a dual-monitor or multi-monitor machine with minimal fuss. Simply plug it into a free USB port and you'll be off and running with multiple displays; there's no power cord or VGA cable to mess around with.
It's said there's more than one way to skin a cat, which is pretty gross when taken at face value. But the point remains, and it applies to Sony's approach to glasses-free 3D on notebooks. Rather than bake a parallax barrier panel into its Vaio line, the electronics maker developed a lenticular sheet that transforms standard notebooks into 3D laptops.

NEC just expanded its MultiSync P Series with a new 24-inch display built for monitor snobs who wouldn't consider touching a Twisted Nematic (TN) panel with a 40-foot pole. The MultiSynic P241W (or P241W-BK-SV if shelling out for the SpectraView II version) sports an e-IPS panel NEC claims is ideal for Web graphics and photography chores.

Hewlett Packard's targeting display hunters short on real estate with a couple of new HP Compaq branded monitors, the LA2206xc and LE2002x. The 21.5-inch LA2206xc is a thin form factor monitor with LED backlight and built-in 720p HD webcam that, along with HP's MyRoom software, is supposed to make videoconferencing a snap. Also an LED monitor, HP says the 20-inch LE2002x sports a small footprint with a slim profile.
