We had the opportunity to attend PAX East 2014 at Boston this year and the show was huge for PC gaming. As a matter of fact, besides at the Xbox booth, we didn’t see a single console in sight. In addition to many upcoming AAA PC titles like Evolve and Wolfenstein: The New Order being showcased, a whole slue of PC vendors like Intel, Nvidia, Corsair, and Cooler Master were there.

Day one of Comic Con 2013 in San Diego just ended and the super-crowded event produced some of the best cosplay costumes we've ever seen. There was something for everyone, whether you were into comics, sci-fi, movies, or television. In addition to interesting outfits, we saw some crazy cool toys and gadgets, and even met Yvonne Strahovski!
50 cosplay pictures from the London MCM Comic Con Expo
It’s fair to say the cosplay phenomenon has reached every corner of Earth and England bears no signs of bucking that trend. Last week we had the chance to check out London's MCM Comic Con Expo, an event where all things gaming and cosplay collide. We saw tons of costumes from the Mass Effect universe to the myriad champions in League of Legends and everything in between.
Take a peek below to see all of the crazy costumes in our gallery and let us know which cosplay is your favorite!
We had the chance to check out FanimeCon 2013 in San Jose, California this past weekend. While the annual event is widely known as an anime convention, gaming played a huge part of the show. In addition to having an entire expo hall dedicated to video games, there were a ton of game-inspired costumes. Popular outfits this year included the large roster of League of Legends champions to the ever popular Team Fortress 2 classes, and much, much more!
Presented below are some of our favorite FanimeCon 2013 cosplay costumes. Let us know which ones are your favorite in the comments section!
What are conventions without cosplay? Freaking boring! We spent last weekend having a blast at PAX East, and found no shortage of cool get-ups to drop our jaws at. The dedication, time, and craft that these folks put into their outfits is formidable, as we learned first-hand in Boston. Take a look through and see some amazing costumes that range from hulking space marines to a gender-bending Batman! Or should that be Batwoman? Either way, check out the gallery below!
What do you do when your 11-year-old son tells you he wants to dress up as a chick for Halloween? You help him build a Samus Aran costume, of course!
Little Jospeh DeRose wanted to do exactly that, and so his father decided to help him construct a replica of Samus Aran's Varia Suit from Metroid Prime, starting with the awesome arm cannon complete with a speaker and LED lights. Best of all, the father-son team posted an 8-minute worklog on YouTube for all to see.
Check it out below, then hit the jump and tell us if you've seen any noteworthy Halloween costume mods.
Ever imagined a world where 6-foot Care Bears roam the streets going door-to-door begging for sweet treats while you're trying to watch the Phillies take a 2-to-1 lead over the Yankees in the World Series? That may be the scene tomorrow, based on the most popular online Halloween costume searches, according to frightening data put together by Hitwise.
You're also likely to see Michael Jackson and Balloon Boy getups, which held the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. But of the searches beginning with the word 'adult, 'adult Care Bear costume' came in third, right behind 'adult cat costume' (No. 1) and 'adult Snow White costume' (No. 2).
You're also likely to run into more themed pets than ever before. Compared to 2008, Hitwise noted a 97 percent increase in searches for "pet costumes." Better toss some Milk Bones in with those fun-sized Snicker bars.
Comic-book conventions are wonderful spectacles of geekery, and major Cons are the only place to get exclusive access to behind-the-scenes previews and sneak peeks at your favorite comic book or upcoming film. But for us, the biggest attraction at these sweaty gatherings is the Cosplay: fearless nerds showing off their love for genre characters with marvelous homemade costumes. This past weekend, we roamed the halls of San Francisco's Wondercon to play Cosplay paparazzi. The cosplay harvest wasn't as bountiful as last year's San Diego Comic-Con (where we snapped up four hundred photos), but we still found some delightful gems (and familiar faces) at this local event. Keep an eye out for no fewer than four Rorschachs from the upcoming Watchmen movie, sexy slave Leia, and the most amazing Transformers costume we've ever seen!
