It's the Wii U, and it will ship with HD graphics support, a funky new tablet controller, and updated guts that, in theory, should have developers excited. It is, after all, a new toy to play with. So why are a handful of developers dissing the Wii U?
The raging battle of words between PC gamers and console gamers has never quite reached PC vs. Mac levels of animosity, but it's come close. Could those angry days be coming to an end? Probably not, but if anybody could convince the two camps to pick up their virtual arms in unison and start singing "Kumbaya," it's Valve -- and rumors floating around say that Valve is developing a console-esque box designed to let gamers get their Steam on in the living room.
Capcom on Thursday said that Resident Evil 6 is in full development and scheduled for release on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation game consoles on November 20, 2012, "with a PC version to follow." NVidia is famous for talking up the potential of PC gaming, but considering that the company’s profits are almost entirely dependent on the success of that genre, many have taken it with a grain of salt. For years they have claimed PC gaming is on the rise, but now they can actually put a date to it. According to analysts commissioned by the graphics chip maker,
Have you ever wondered why the first 2-3 pages of a Nintendo manual have more health warnings than a box of cigarettes? It’s not because gaming is a particularly dangerous hobby, but like everything in life some people just don’t understand the old adage “all things in moderation”. According to the
Remember when everyone said PC gaming was dying? Remember when they were completely and utterly wrong – forever? Of course you do. And so does history, as it tends to favor victors. As for who's going to be forgotten, well, turnabout's kind of a bitc-- we mean fair play. And so, somewhat fittingly, Age of Empires Online developer and Gas Powered Games head Chris Taylor believes it's now consoles that are circling the drain.
