What matters most when you game? I imagine we each have a different answer, and that answer may change with time. After many years of playing military shooters, I finally realized this month that I’ve had enough. I’ll certainly go on steering around my little guy as he bobs behind an iron site in a brownish-grayish world, but I won’t miss the genre if it vanishes.
AMD and Nvidia driver teams have been putting in some pretty serious overtime trying to keep up with the flood of new titles hitting the market just before the holidays, and a third profile update just went live for AMD’s less than one month old Catalyst 11.11. Just in-case you’d lost count, in addition to the three profile updates, AMD has also released three separate beta drivers to fix various other issues with specific titles. We're not talking about would-be Zak McKrackens or former knights of Daventry (King's Quest fans will get the latter reference), but those gamers who aren't afraid to install beta drivers and potentially buggy code, all in the pursuit of better framerates and improved performance all around. If that sounds like you, and you own an Nvidia graphics card, you should check this out.
There are a number of glitches and bugs in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 that make it possible for unscrupulous gamers to hack and cheat their way to victory. Be warned, however, that Infinity Ward has begun swinging around its ban hammer and has already dealt blows to more than 1,600 cheating gamers, with more to come.
