Intel is reportedly planning to launch a pair of processors based on its 14nm Broadwell architecture sometime in the second quarter of this year. One is the Core i7 5775C and the other is the Core i5 5675C, both of which are unlocked parts, though you'll notice the usual "K" designation for an unlocked Intel chip has been replaced with the letter "C" -- no reason for the change is known at this point.
The Revo One RL85 mini PC that Acer first showcased at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas is about to hit store shelves, albeit only in Europe. The RL85, as is apparent from its understated yet elegant design, has been crafted to seamlessly fit into any contemporary living space, of which it requires only about one liter. More importantly, the 6-by-4-by-4-inch PC appears to be no slouch in the specs and the value-for-money departments either.
Intel’s quasi-barebones NUC PC is back for round three, with the sexy-named “NUC5i5RYK” SKU leading the charge. Equipped with Intel’s i5-5250U dual-core CPU, clocked at 1.6GHz, the processor still comes soldered to the NUC’s motherboard. And once again, owners will have to bring their own OS to the party.
Rumor has it Intel will finally release its 14nm Broadwell desktop processors in the middle of next quarter (think somewhere around mid-May), so you still have some time to prepare for an upgrade or overhaul, if going that route. At least one company is making it easy -- Asus on Tuesday announced that all of its 9 Series motherboards support Intel's 5th Generation Core lineup.

Laptop refresh sees an upgrade to Intel's Core i7-5500U CPU
Toshiba today announced that its premium Kirabook 13 i7S1 Touch Ultrabook is now rocking a 5th Generation Intel Core i7-5500U processor based on the Santa Clara chip maker's Broadwell architecture. The new part is a dual-core chip with four threads with a base frequency of 2.4GHz and turbo frequency of 3GHz. It also sports 4MB of cache, Intel HD Graphics 5500, and a 15W TDP.
We were intrigued with the potential of the NUC when it first came out -- here was this tiny box with fairly respectable hardware inside powerful enough to serve as a secondary PC or, for the right person, a primary system. There have been several follow-up models since then, but the best is yet to come. Intel has gone and updated its NUC product page with a new model that will be the first to feature a Core i7 processor inside.

Earlier this week, Fujitsu joined many other PC vendors around the world in announcing new mobile PC models built around 5th generation Intel Core processors. The Broadwell-powered models announced by the Japanese company include both tablets and notebooks, and they all mean business.
