Now that Windows 8 is here, don't be surprised to see companies pimping new all-in-one (AIO) desktops with fancy touchscreen displays. Even boutique builders are getting in on the action. Enter Velocity Micro, a system builder based out of Virginia, which today announced its new Edgo AIO PC. Fully configurable on the inside, Velocity Micro says it also paid attention to the outside, culminating in a "rare combination of aesthetics and power."

Introduced in plenty of time for the holiday shopping season, MSI today unveiled a pair of new Windows 8-based all-in-one (AIO) machines, the Wind Top AE2712 and AE2712G. Both models sport a 27-inch touchscreen with 10 multi-touch points and a Full HD 1080p (1920x1080) resolution, along with "Military Class II" features. The AE2712G, however, ups the ante with a discete Nvidia GeForce GT630M GPU for added pixel pushing power.

Vizio probably isn't the first company that comes to mind when you think about pre-built PCs, and it might not even be on your PC shopping radar at all. Well, if you aren't aware, Vizio started selling PCs a few months back, and was one of the first to offer an Ultrabook with a Full HD 1080p (1920x1080) screen resolution. Evidently happy with its foray into PC sales, Vizio has announced its holiday PC lineup, which consists of Windows 8-equipped all-in-one (AIO) systems, a pair of Ultrabooks, and a notebook, all of which are part of the bloat-free Microsoft Signature for Windows program.

Hewlett-Packard, still the world's largest pre-built PC player, introduced four new all-in-one desktop PCs today, including the SpectreONE, which is the first AIO to join the Spectre family. The other three include the HP Envy 23, Envy 20 TouchSmart, and Pavilion 20, the latter of which is the only one of the bunch that's a non-touch system. HP's SpectreONE doesn't sport a touchscreen either, but it does ship with a wireless trackpad that will allow users to scroll, swipe, and tap around Windows 8 when it ships in October.
