I'm not sure on the new Surface's internals, but I find it hard to imagine that the onboard GPU is powerful enough to push both external monitors and the screen at once for anything more than a few still images and text. I'd love to be proven wrong, but still, it seems highly unlikely...

I also find it disturbing to see that MS is still pushing for their own idea of the "post-pc era" and calling this a workstation. This may be pretty, but it is *not* a desktop. It is a tablet with desktop peripherals hooked to it.

2D GUIs are rather stupidly easy to do for a GPU. Even an IGPU. If there was a reason they couldn't do it before, they were just lacking VRAM.
