I'm glad Newegg won. Now can we please do the same to Rambus.

Yet Amazon has a patent on "One Click" shopping cart and trolls, sues and wins in court against any other company that tries to use something similar. I guess it depends on how deep of pockets a corporation has.

Hey everybody, I invented the shopping cart. That means the invention of the shopping cart is patiented and we should just carry our groceries on our back. f*ck you patent troll.

They only patented the shopping cart as it applies to the internet, not irl.

But its still a silly patent. I have to wonder weather the patent office ever actually looks at these things, or just rubber stamps them.

"The witch is dead... hurray!" is now one of my favorite tech related quotes ever.

Also, the supreme court is a double-edged sword when it comes to these kinds of things. Don't forget that they also just killed net neutrality and the internet as we know it.

According to YouTube and Netflix, the internet as we know it died a long time ago.

The FCC saved the internet. The last thing anyone should want is government openly controlling the carriers, though I suppose that would be less sketchy than the backroom deals that the NSA has with them now.

Actually, it was not the Supreme Court which threw out Net Neutrality. It was a US District court. It still possible to wind up with the Supremes if the FCC decides to appeal.

" Don't forget that they also just killed net neutrality and the internet as we know it."

Blame the FCC for not classifying ISPs as common carriers in the first place.

avatar

The Mac

Im not entirely sure they have the power to do that.

"It's a really tough time to be a patent TROLL," Soverain president Katharine Wolanyk said.

"It's about time." says the world.

This is exactly how I feel and was planning to comment on. I hope to see more cases like this from companies willing to fight against these corrupt patent trolls.

Its about bloody time someone gave these douche bags a proverbial boot up the backside.

Hopefully this will set some precedent, and all these other ridiculous trolls will be put out of business.

It would be pretty funny if they used the phrase "Obvious troll is obvious" in their decision.

lol

"It's a really tough time to be a patent owner". Especially the owner of an obvious patent trolling companies out of their money.

Yeah, companies are always all kinds of bummed out when the people find out how they are scamming them.
