I can translate for him too. We're better than you Microsoft, this is exactly how we're better, now go piss off and wet your bed tonight when we rape your dreams! Because we all know who this was aimed at.

The HDD doesn't have an easily accessible bay or external cable to allow for an easy upgrade? Ouch.

Dude it's 4 screws. That's easy.

If you can't take out 5 screws, just turn in your man card and wait till your girl gets home. She'll take care of it.

No, Actually it's 1 screw for HD, four for case.

you'd be surprised how many will be intimidated by 4 screws

They made it easy to take apart for cleaning or part replacement & it uses standard Laptop SATA Hard drives! Good job SONY! I will be buying a PS4.

Also, it supports 12.5MM laptop HDD.s

It's not as easy as the PS3's was, well at least on the phat models. it was one plastic cover and one screw that's it. From start to finish you could replace the HDD, have it formatted and playing games again in less than 5 minutes.

I may change the hard drive out for a hybrid drive. While I'm at it maybe I'll apply new thermal interface material.

I would be interested in seeing what the PS4 version of the YLOD looks like. I managed to oven-bake one of the launch-60 versions of the PS3 3X before it was no longer usable.

Wondering if they are using the same failed BGA design with lead-free solder that was on the old board design.

They're probably going to be using lead free solder with the PS4 as well. Its a health/safety requirement in some European countries (and other countries I assume as well). Its considered a children's toy, so having lead in it is a no-no.

They could just make it in China to get the lead in there...

Beautiful. Love the simple design. Taking apart an xbox 360 is a pain in the ass compared to this thing. That fan is BIG! I feel that the upgradeable HDD was a great idea, but the location may make it difficult for the layman.

I personally feel the power brick would have done just fine outside the console, as they get very warm, but incorporating the PSU in the cooling loop may alleviate that issue. The compartmentalization of all the major components is great, i anticipate easily swapping out the HDD, or a failed PSU or ODD. (I like to OWN my products, run them into the ground). 8 year old rebuilt 360 still goin strong!
