Skyrim Sales Soar to 3.4 Million in Just Two Days

Paul Lilly

If you haven't been blowing off work and family the last few times to log some serious time playing with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, well, your priorities are way out whack mister (or madam, as the case may be). Those that do have their priorities straight went and picked up the highly anticipated title, pushing Skyrim game sales to more than 3.4 million in its first two days, and that's just at retail.

Not included in that figure are all the digital sales, VGChartz says . Even so, Skyrim has already topped first week sales for Gears of War 3 and FIFA Soccer 12. Sales figures are comparable to Battlefield 3, but in a shorter time period (two days), which means Skyrim is jumping off store shelves at a faster clip. When the dust settles, only Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be ahead of Skyrim. Very impressive for a non-FPS title.

As far as competing with itself, Skyrim's initial retail sales are up six-fold over Oblivion and will outsell the previous title in just a few weeks.
